Does anyone use the MD vitamin patches? I started using the package for the Gastric Bypass yesterday and wondering if others use them. If so, do you like them? I don't have my surgery date yet but because of my GERD i have a hard time taking pills. So I wanted to try the Patches.

Hi Newlady. I have been using the Multivitamin with extra Iron patch and I love it. I hate the taste of kiddie Vitamins as they leave a horrible aftertaste so the patch has been a lifesaver. I just had my final labs before surgery drawn last week and everything was within normal range, even my iron which was low before. I guess some people have issues with their labs after using the Patches but others have had great success. Me being the latter. Good luck!

I'm using PatchMD Patches as well, Still not 100% sure of their actual effectiveness, I'm doing a study right now with my surgical team, nutritionist and the head nurse at the teaching hospital I had my surgery at, I'm **STILL** waiting for PatchMD to give me their clinical trials, I've reached out to them, but they just don't ever respond. I'll post something up about it once I have my 3 month blood draw here in a few weeks.

My Dr. says they absolutely don’t work. Vitamins and minerals don’t pass through the skin and blood barrier like nicotine. Please ask your Dr. or surgeon first.

Personally, I just won't take anyone's word without clinical evidence, I'm in the middle of a trial being overseen by my surgical staff, nutritionist, hospital pharmacist and head nurse. I'm not taking ANY Vitamins orally except the required B vitamins. So when I get my results back, then we will know empirically if the Patches do in fact work or not, just saying I'm not going to take the word of someone that might be a doctor but more than likely isn't a pharmaceutical specialist. (Just because someone is a teacher or college professor, doesn't mean they know everything about everything...)

I get my blood drawn this coming Saturday, Follow up with my surgeon on the 18th. I will certainly keep folks posted on my findings.

I'm going to watch with interest also. I see you're located in Rhode Island, is your reasearch there or in an adjoing New England state? At any rate, it does sound intriguing.😜

My surgery and all tests were/are being performed/evaluated/monitored by a Lifespan Training Hospital here in Rhode Island.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
