Anyone use Premier Protein Clear drinks during pre or post op?

Recommended Posts

I have always hated shakes of all sorts. I instantly gag. But I saw they have clear Protein Drinks. Are these any good?

I've used them. They're not bad. Quite sweet - I dilute them with Water and ice. They don't leave a film in your mouth like Isopure.

About how much Water do you use? And is there a Particular flavor that you prefer!

I go about 50/50, but it's entirely up to you and your sweetness preference. I had the tropical punch.

I've used Isopure but I didn't even know Premier had clear ones. I guess I'll have to try those as well! Isopure is kind of hit and miss for me. Some flavors I could tolerate and others I couldn't but it definitely got me through the times that I just COULD NOT stomach another shake so maybe the Premier is the same?

Yep, pre & post op. I have only tried the raspberry and stuck to it. I add crystal light lemonade to mine. I love it

I tried them post-op. Like others have mentioned, they are quite sweet.

I have 3 different Protein waters:

  • Premier Protein Clears: 20g Protein
  • Protein2O: 15g Protein
  • Trimino: 7g Protein

I alternate which ones I use depending on the amount of protein I consume. Today I am feeling a bit under the weather and I find drinking the PP Clears and adding 8oz of Water helps significantly in getting them down. I dilute most of them with some water because as others have said they are very sweet.

My favorite of the bunch is the Trimino as they are more like lemonade to me, but I still dilute them. They have less protein, but I find I get lots of protein in naturally throughout the day with other shakes that on days I don't need an extra boost its my go-to.

No, I don’t think they are sweet. Could be the different flavor but the raspberry is bland

I used them, the mango flavored ones and they really helped me during my first two weeks post op. I still have some to help me get my full Protein because I’m not getting enough right now.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
