Weight Lifting Shoes?

Recommended Posts

I have been doing heavier work outs lately and my trainer told me to get rid of the Nike Shox and find something with a more even base instead of tilting me forward on my toes.

He said this while we were doing squats but I just dont know what to get.

Anyone have any ideas?

The reason he doesn't want you tilted forward is it puts too much emphasis on your quads, and your hamstrings will not get as full of a workout on squats. You can get any brand you want, but you will need to find a good feeling pair of cross-training shoes for weight lifting. They have a more even base, and they have a little more lateral support than the Shox. They will also be heavier, but for weightlifting that shouldn't matter.

Yeah, I've heard of this too. Ditto to above post, thanks kagoscuba. Also, I think if theres too much weight on the ball of your foot, your center of balance can be off while lifting weights as opposed to most of the weight being on your heel. The shox are great sneaks, especially for running, but I'd rather have something flatter like a cross trainer instead for weightlifting.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
