Before and In Progress Pics?

Recommended Posts

I would, but I have to find a before pic. Plus I am going to wait until my 3 month bandiversary, which is in 7 days. I will try to figure out how to do it by then.

Ok I guess I will get the ball rolling and hope many people will join me. I would love to see how my fellow Crazy Ates are doing. My before picture was taken July 1st and my current one was taken halloween night. And Salsa the way I have been posting pictures is by clicking on the Manage Attachments link towards the bottom of the page and then adding photos that I have on my computer.

Wow - I see a big difference in your face!

I took before pics although they didn't come out that great - stupid camera phone but I now have my regular digi camera back. I haven't taken any in-progress pics yet but I plan to in the next day or two and I will share. I hit the 50lbs mark yesterday so I'm hoping to see a big difference.

Candle I bet we will be able to see a huge difference. When you live with yourself day to day it is hard to see it, I know. It wasnt till I compared my pictures side by side that I really could see the difference even though I knew I was wearing smaller sizes.

Wooh - look at the amazing shrinking people! Too cool, guys!

I'll see if I can get a pic sometime this weekend and possibly some preop from my parents' bday party in August. The clinic gave me grief for wearing all black the day they took my before pic (against a dark wood door, no less).

I'm getting all snazzed up for a belly dance event tonight so it might be a fun "in progress" picture. :-)

By the way Pammy, it's not just the weight loss I see in your picture. I can see you're feeling better about yourself. You look SO confident!

Andree, you are looking and doing great!! Keep up the good work.

Candle: Thank you for the compliment ;)

pizzicato66: Thank you also. The confidence showing is not only from the weight loss but also from the man behind the camera. He has been so supportive from the beginning, loving me no matter what.

Wow, you gals look great. My bf took a picture while we were sitting at dinner the other night with his cell phone, and I couldn't believe it. I know that my clothes are getting really, really baggy, but the fact that I could actually see the difference in the picture was amazing. I promise I will post pictures as soon as I get back from our mini vacation to see my family next week. That will put me just after my three month bandiversary! It will be the first time that they have seen me since my surgery. My brother is brutally honest, (that is what you get from a redneck, macho 21 yo) and I think he will be shocked. He is the one that took care of me right after surgery so he knew what I looked like right before I went in to get my lovely little band.

Great pics ladies -- thanks for sharing.

I need to take mine -- I intended to take them monthly, but have been convinced there's nothing notable to report. I'm coming up on 3 months soon. I'll do them then, I promise.

(Somebody remind me on the 14th!)

So I was so inspired that I decided to post my pictures 6 days before my bandiversary. I have to explain the before pics. This was at our outdoor school last year so the reason my tongue is sticking out is because we were singing funny camp songs. This was not even at my highest. I think I gained an additional 10 pounds after these pictures were taken, but you get the picture! The other pics were taken tonight. That is the same blue san francisco shirt in both pics. I had to take another after pic in a better shirt, cause the t-shirt is now way too big and has been demoted to a weekend only shirt!:whoo:

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
