6 pounds, but it went away within that first week post op plus some. It's hard not to feel frustrated- we've all been there. Common Sense- You know that nothing you ate in the hospital would sabotage your progress and that it is Water and inflammation. This is a marathon not a sprint. This is not a quick fix!!!! Once a week passes by, hop on that scale and see how much it changes. I'm sure that you will be pleasantly surprised. Congrats on a successful surgery!

I was smart and knew better than to weigh myself because they had given me double fluids before discharge because I was dehydrated.

Just don’t weigh yourself for one week, two is even better.

I didn't gain much of anything, but I think what saved me...was walking like a maniac. I walked like crazy and peed like crazy. Another thought....I had zero nausea. From the time I woke up I was begging for ice chips and wanted to drink. Every ounce they let me drink I was in heaven. Tiny little sips...but I drank everything they allowed me to drink and had no issues at all. I also elected to take as little of the pain meds as they allowed. (they did talk me into one dose before sleeping) Maybe some of these things effected the volume of fluids I was given?

Also...if you take blood pressure meds or diuretics or a few other meds and have them discontinued just for surgery...that can cause a lot of Water retention.

I gained 14 lbs from all the fluids. It came back off within a few days of being home. Luckily, the surgeon warned me of this prior to surgery.

I was unable to weigh myself until my doctor’s appointment six days after surgery (away from home the whole time). I was down three pounds at that point.

I’m day 2 post op. They weighted me today & I’m up 9lbs. I know it’s Water retention & swelling but man it’s disheartening to see the scale creeping up.

Yesss!! This same thing happened to me I was so discouraged

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
