  2. I gained 8 pounds and lost 11 by my one week check up.
  3. I drink tea. I buy all the flavors I can find and then I sample them. It's not a slice of Hawaiian pizza, but it fits the bill for me.
  4. I was full and happy with my refried beans. I just didn't know what to do with myself.
  5. What do you do while other people eat at restaurants? I went out to dinner with my parents and everyone kept accusing me of being sad while they were eating. I wasn't sad. I was uncomfortable and feeling awkward because I ate my two tablespoons of refried beans and was done. I don't really want to play on my phone but, that might be my only option?

  8. I'm sorry you are struggling. I have dry mouth, too. In the hospital they gave me biotene mouth spray. The stuff is nasty, but it works. Other than water, I drink decaffeinated herbal teas.
  9. Day one is the HARDEST!! I cried myself to sleep on day one of the liquid diet. By day three it wasn't so bad. Hang in there. What helped me was remembering how far I'd come on the solid pre-op diet, why I was having gastric bypass, and my goals. It sounds like fluff that the nutritionist just says, but for me it worked.

  12. I hope you are feeling a tiny bit better today.
  13. Mine was given by my psychiatrist. We discussed my expectations, why I wanted surgery and what my goals are. It wasn't scary at all. Just a little chat.

  15. My surgeon's policy is if you don't bring your cpap you will not recieve narcotic pain meds after the surgery.
  16. I just had to take two showers with regular antibacterial soap the night before surgery. Nothing special.
  17. My gastric bypass was on 4/18. During my surgery they also fixed two hernias and removed some lipomas. I am experiencing a sharp burning pain in my right shoulder blade when I bend. Has anyone experienced something similar? Should I email my surgeon?
  18. I had surgery on the 18th. I am not hungry at all.

  20. You're doing great! I only lost eight pounds total. I hope you have an easy recovery.
  21. My husband and I are doing this together. His surgery is in about 4 to 5 months. We've been dieting and working out together. He's my biggest cheerleader and I hope I am his. My best friend is the reason I chose to have wls. She had gastric bypass eight years ago and she looks fantastic. She's knowledgeable, a great calming influence for when I panic, and down to help with anything. For example when I get discharged on Friday, I'm going to her house for 48 hours because she lives closer to the hospital than I do.
