This was not a easy way out. This surgery comes with its ups and downs. I just had mine on Tuesday and I want this to be over already.

The "Easy way out" would have been to do nothing except what we had already done over and over and continue to fail to lose the weight or worse to drop it and gain it back repeatedly. The end result would have been an early grave and the "easiest way out"

congrats on your brave decision to get control of your life and dont let anyone or anything take that control away from you again.

I’ve had all these comments before. It’s not the easy way out. It takes a lot to do SOMETHING to take charge of your life.

Hope you continue to feel better day by day. I was sleeved Wednesday, yesterday was painful. Today should be better. . . . Right?

I want this part to be over too. I feel like an invalid. Good news is I do not feel like eating anything. :D

Hehe. I was the same. I had my op lunchtime Wednesday just over a week ago and didn't feel any hunger for the first few days, and only slight hunger before I came home from hospital.

Why do patients even react to this "the easy way out" stuff? Why even bother? Is the opinion of some other person really that important? Is there something wrong with an easy way out so lots of patients are so upset about this and get defensive?

But then again... I'd somehow really like to see someone showing off the belly IRL like the OP does on this picture. :D (as if, lol)

I'm not upset or defensive. I just really want to flash my battered belly to the world so they can see this is NOT the easy way out.

I am sure people from the outside think it is easy bc we all are so AMAZING and STRONG while we go through this process. It is our fault they think it is easy bc we make it look effortless. :D

Thank you and you do the same. Yesterday I was a old lady walking around holding my stomach and bent over. I rold my bf I needed a walker, lol. This morning is much better Im moving a little faster. Yes today think positive thoughts and walk and pass gas as much as possible it helps, lol. I never felt so good to just pass gas to relieve my back pain. Sorry TMI but its true.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
