Separation Advice

Recommended Posts

My wife and I separated last July after having our last huge argument. She has always said she doesn’t want any money from me including child support because our children are adopted. She already receives over $2000 a month from NYS in the form of a maintenance stipend for them. She sent me an email with separation paperwork yesterday that says she wants $60 a month of my money too. She also stated that she needs it signed and notarized by May 11th so she can get things going to adopt another child.

Get a lawyer and bring up the fact she always said she didn't want money from you because they were adopted. I would not do anything or sign anything until you see a lawyer. That is a good way to get screwed. Hold your ground.

Sounds also like she may be suffering from Angelina Jolie-itis, things aren't going well ? Let's adopt another child. An innocent child shouldn't be brought in under those circumstances, a child needs to be loved for themself.

So are they your children? Did you adopt them together? If that's the case then why wouldn't you want to help support them regardless of what she may have said? $60 a month is less than most people pay a week in child support. Why is she receiving a stipend for adopted children? Are they officially adopted or is she their legal guardian? Maybe it's different where you live but where I live if you foster a child you would get a stipend if you become their legal guardian you still get a stipend but if you adopt a child they are your child now and your responsibility. Sorry just seems like a confusing situation That's why I'm asking all these questions. I don't know what any of this has to do with her adopting another child though. It seems like such a random amount per month that she's asking for too. Is she trying to prove she has a specific income so she can adopt another? Seems weird to me. Her adopting another child has nothing to do with you. I would consult a lawyer about this if I were you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
