We are proud of you too. Your insurance company isn't going to give you a hard time and say you can lose weight on your own since you're doing just that, are they? That would be horrible.

My doc's office said if they give me shit they'll fight for me. They don't think I will have problems though. I did start at 419 and I have several comorbs. The whole point of the 6 month diet is to prove that I can make a life changing commitment. I am doing JUST THAT.

Also the office said even if I lost 100 before surgery...which I won't...that I would still need it. So I am hoping (praying too) they will approve me in October. The lady I talked to said I shouldn't have any problems...but that's just one insurance lady.

Lol now I am gonna start to worry again.

I am very proud of you froggi. You are very young to be so committed. I am glad your doctor will fight for you.

Me too, only thing is i finish my 6 month diet in october surgery should be in November. If I have to fight the insurance I might not be able to get it done before the end of December when I wont have insurance anymore.

I am praying everything goes okay.

I have to agree about the snake "shudder" I hate snakes!!!! But why not an aquatic frog that stays in the Water with the fish? we have a 29 gallon aquarium that has neon tetras, hatchet fish, black skirt tetras, 2 snails and 2 frogs. It is fun to watch the frogs and try to find them. they love to just hang around the floral bushes we have in there, oh did I say hang around, well I mean hang off!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
