I am posting to say that my daughter's stepmother is an idiot!!!!!!!!! She sent me an email because my daughter is with them for the week and they were planning to take all the kids to a Water park tomorrow. My daughters TOM arrived today. She has never worn tampons and is not comfortable with the idea of doing so. So, wicked stepmom says to me that I need to call my dd because she is refusing to wear a tampon and is going to ruin everything for everyone because of that. OK, first off, how is that going to ruin it for everyone else if she goes but chooses to just stay out of the water and get some sun instead? Secondly, my daughter is 15 years old. It is her body, her choice. If she chooses to wear tampons, fine, if she chooses not to, then that is fine as well. Evil stepmom asked me what kind of parent I am that I would allow something as silly as that to spoil their day? She said her daughter didn't want to wear them but after forcing her to for 5 months she finally got used to it. WTF??!!! I am not going to force my daughter to do something with her body that she doesn't want to. That is a personal choice for her to make and no one else.

OK, rant over. I just needed to get that off my chest.

I am constantly amazed by the audacity of people.

Wow what an insane beach!!!!! How old is this woman 20? I had a stepmonster when I was 17 and it was not fun. I lived with mine because my mother had died. At least your daughter has a normal mom to come home to! I could never be divorced because something like this would end up putting me in prison!! Vent all you like you know we'll support you here! brandyII:thumbup:

Thanks for the support guys. Her stepmom is about 37 years old. Before she started sleeping with my ex, we were actually best friends! After she had an affair with my husband while we were still married, she couldn't understand why our friendship couldn't continue. Yes, she is truly an idiot.

Just remember Karma is a bitch...she'll get her's one day. I had a friend that went through almost the exact same thing, her ex ended up cheating on the new wife too. She actually turned to my friend trying to get sympathy (they used to be best friends), needless to say, my friend told her to F-off, lol.

Susan, you're doing the right thing. My Mom never forced me to try tampons, but I did many years ago. I ended up choosing tampons once I did get used to them, but it was my choice.

Denise, that's what you call "in love loss"! LOL

Her dad is a big jerk too. For as long as I have known him, everything has been about him. He never thinks about anyone else, just himself. He doesn't care if he upsets his daughter, so long as she ends up doing what makes him happy. I am so glad I live two hours away from them. If I lived closer, I would probably do something I would regret later, lol.

ok ... my response is completely inappropriate, but this is R&R...

Susan,

i would tell her to try shoving a tampon somewhere she's never shoved one before and 'go have fun' at the Water park. after 8-10 hours of it there, then you'll talk to your DD and tell her what you think she should do...

It's amazing how clueless some "best friends" can be. After I caught my best friend lying on my loungeroom floor with my husband's little white bum going up and down between her legs, while I was HOME!!, she didn't get why I didn't want to be friends with her any more. I guess chasing her out of the house with a broom wasn't a big enough clue.

What was even funnier is that after my husband and I split and they got together, she used to ring me up and try to complain about his violence, emotional blackmail and manipulative controlling ways - and this was after watching how he had treated me for the previous several years, and even helping me talk him into staying at their house after parties because I was too scared to go home with him, knowing that he'd drunk enough that the "evil switch" in his head had been triggered.

My revenge was watching her disintegrate as a person, just by living with him :rolleyes2:. She was always an emotionally fragile woman and I couldn't understand how she could ever imagine that she could handle that life. After only a year with him, she ended up in a mental hospital with a complete nervous breakdown... so sad :rolleyes2::tongue2:.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
