When I was eating today, it felt like the food was stuck in my esophagus.

That's okay, right? Because isn't the esophagus the new stomach after the band? Isn't it the pouch?

Hee hee, I was reading some of this thread and thought, holy heck what is going on. I went back to the start of the thread and realised you crazy critters are just mucking about! Yey! I love it, nutty and a little chewy too! ;)

Yes it is, along with your larynx and the back (deep) portion of your nose. Actually when food starts oozing from your nose , it's a pretty good sign you're full. Oh, and remember to wait at least 30 minutes after your meal before you have liquids!

It is especially fun when the food oozing from your sinus is lettuce. It's makes it fun, itchy too.

Being banded brings a whole new light to sneezing. :P

I don't have a cat or a fish. I have a dog. She loves the lap band because she gets all the foods that I try to eat and end up in her dish. It's because my new stomach, the esophagus, gets full really fast on 1/3 of a cup of food.< /p>

Denise 1/3 of a cup is waaaay to much. It should be more like 1/8 to 1/4 max!

Are we talking the fish or the band?

I eat about 1/2 cup to 1 cup of food and do great, everyone is different. BUT if we are talking the fish...lol..yeah too much food!

Okay, I couldn't take it ANYMORE, so here's the question that was asked:

Unfill or ride it out?

Hey there guys, just had another fill today and he decided to be a little agressive as I still havent lost any weight after 9 months.

Put another 1ml in making total of 6.5ml, got home and cant even drink Water. Tried to drink warm tea and had really bad pains like something was stuck then it came back up again.

He said to come back if I needed adjustment (he is only in town today and tomorrow) but I know from experience that my last fill (which was not this tight) wore off after a couple of weeks.

Do you think I should go back or will it settle down as the hours go on?

Thanks

--------------

Here's my response. Was I too rude? Who cares if I was, I just couldn't take it!

Hmmmm, you got a 1ml fill (he was being "a little aggressive")

it's never felt this tight before,

it took a while for it to loosen up the last time when it felt a bit tight,

you can't drink water,

you can't even keep down warm tea,

and you are asking if you need an unfill???????

Yep, I think so.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
