go to the nearest airport - select flight to DFW, i'll come pick you up - you can clean & organize till your hearts content.

i'll have diner & wine waiting:)

:tongue2::lol: You have no idea how tempting that sounds...AND you have heat and sunshine and dogs...my idea of heaven or retirement!!

Slim - not uninterrupted - my mother called to ask DH how to do something on her computer...she called long after we were asleep. She's in her late 80's and forgets things like TIME, so she was blissfully unaware that it was WAY too late to be phoning anyone! After DH walked her through her problem, he then went immediately back to sleep. Me, I was awake then for a few hours, and went back to be bed at 4. But I am hopeful that tonight my normal pattern will resume...

No NO Lulu - I need Tap! My home is in a severe state of terminal illness - it's needs some serious reviving.

So let's see what do I have to offer: I have heat and sun (maybe not as much though), I have a dog, no pool, no private wildlife preserve - Buuuuttttt I do know young hot men!

Ladies, ladies....perhaps we can come to some kind of arrangement; DH and I will travel around from place to place doing periodic purging, cleaning and organizing of selected homes. DH is a great handyman (electrical engineer by education) and can't stand to do nothing; he loves doing renovations, repairs. Any odd jobs from wiring lamps to remodelling kitchens, he'd be happy.

No Lu I didn't see RKO 281, but shall add it to the list.

So, while I was inside puttering (and muttering), my brother arrived with multiple HUGE plastic tote boxes from our Aunt. For reasons unknown to the family she is giving away most of her things, and she is deciding who gets what. I got books...lots of books. I really don't have a big need for latin primers circa 1930, but I LOVED finding an original hardcover Bobsey Twins book. Her tastes are certainly eclectic: from latin books, russian poetry, mysteries, to Colin Powell autobio, to the chicken Soup series (which I don't like). I'm taking a wee break from sorting them as the dust is starting to get to me - I found one presented to her in 1939 for public speaking. Lovely handwriting they had - and with fountain pens...

Some (many) will be taken to the local used book store, others will be stored away (and my relatives can figure out what to do with them after Im dead) - after I've read them all, of course. Even the Bobbsey Twins!

Gotta grab some lunch, then back to sorting books.

BOOKS UPDATE: Tours for South Dakota; watergate transcripts; modern espionage; a first edition of Heidi; and the history of golf balls....what a collection in this box!!

Tap,

I think I can make you a very nice offer. You can swim in my pool. You can pet my dog - who is the cutest in the world. You can eat all the leftover NutriSystem food I'll never again touch.

Then....I'm having a deck put on...lots of dust and dirt flying about. Having a window torn out and turned into a door. I don't clean and my housekeeper hasn't been here in a loooong time due to family illness. Also, my parents live around the corner and stop in frequently.:(

How could you pass this up???????:tongue2:

And, I'm out of Cascade and can't run the dishwasher.

Tap, if this doesn't get you excited, well, there's just something wrong with you! I wish I liked to clean and organize but I think the most vacuuming I'll do is the pool.

Hope you all have a great Sunday!

Well, my fellow PJTPers. I think I may be finished with LBT. Pnkpassion was reinstated. I gotta question that. I'm really quite surprised. And her thread about eating chicken goes on. She was rude to me again there and I didn't post anything. Susan "moderated" her but come on....

So, I'm not feeling too positive about the board's admin.

Nekid happy dance would be dangerous - flopping gals could give me a black eye!

:lol::lol::lol:

I know exactly that feeling - moving from pull-ups to buttons and zips! Great NSV!

I have the song from the pull up comercials on, "I'Mma big girl now!":rolleyes2::(

Sounds good - sitting by the pool, having a drink or two and being fanned by the spouse. Isn't that how life is supposed to be?

Ok, that is too funny. I almost reminded you to make sure you left for the potty early when I saw your post this morning. Next time I will make sure and send the message!

Yes please!

I had a pillow case with Bobby Sherman's face on it - kind of creepy now that I type it, but, oh yeah!!! Even had the silly 45s off the back of the Cereal boxes for Bobby and David Cassidy. Ah youth, life was so simple!

No creepy is I still have some of the David Cassidy's fan club hearts with the pic. of him in the hearts. Now thats creepy!

PJTP: Step-daughter is gone. She never asked for anything or even had a drama fit. Hmm, maybe she has grown up... We will wait and see, she will have to earn back trust and respect. It was rather awkward the whole time she was here. It would almost have been easier to visit with a complete stranger, I don't know, it was just weird.

Maybe she has grown up and it was awkward because you waited for trouble and she knew that was expected. Maybe she didn't know how to act or diffuse the tension.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

You too!

Morning everyone!

Afternoon Taps.

Once again, RAIN today. It's easy to be a weatherman/ meterologist here - rain, followed by rain, with a chance of rain...every fricken day!:mad::angry: This is unheard of here, and there are a lot of really cranky people around! So, I guess more inside stuff today...but I don't want to do it....stamping my foot. I WANT TO BE OUTSIDE!

O.K I know that others have called dibbs on you already but.... I live close and I will go pick you up. Even if I don't know what state you live in I am Still Closer!:glare: BWHAAAAAA

I am also kinda handy-capped with this 3 lb weight limit. Thinking what other card I can throw?:tongue2:

First edition of Heidi and the Bobsey Twins to me are sweet finds!

Well I have been doing so good this week about not having to take pain pills during the day. Only take at bedtime with a muscle relaxer until last night. I decided to try to not use them at night. I am paying for it now. I just took both. So back to taking them at night. Oh well live and learn.

Y'all have a blessed Sunday.

:wink:PPPSSSSTTTT Taps, I'm on my way to get you. Don't tell anyone else.

* CAN'T give up my books, i've tried - i let my nieces "borrow my nancy drew collection"...then made my brother ship them back....i inherited my great grandmothers library as i would sneak in as a kid and get lost. the leatherbound charles dickens collection alone is one of my prized favorite things. i view books, especially old ones like "art" - so i'm having mohogany bookshelves built in on just about every wall downstairs.

* TPG, i got the cutest dog X5:wink2: i'd have much more & did - but have 2 old ones that need extra TLX.

* TPG, susan's a great admin - that thread shouldn't have been closed because the topic is quite relevant. just roll w/it, or send her a note.

I love books! My addiction to them is almost as strong as my food addiction. I buy them faster than I can read them. I love every kind - mystery, drama, suspense, chick, books, the twilight series, epics, etc etc.

One of my all time favorites is The Power of One and recently I really enjoyed The Shadow of the Wind - for book lovers I highly recommend the latter (well actually both) but The Shadow of the Wind itself is about the power and mystery of books.

One of my best friends and I always joke that if we ever won the powerball - we would open a dog play place and take in about every stray dog we could find. I unfortunately only have one with two cats (one's really like a dog) - b/c everyone knows I can't say no. I fostered a second dog for several months recently but she went back to her home - very hard on my heart!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

      2. Selina333

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
