Hello all. Checking in as I try and get back to normal as possible.

Thank you to everyone that reached out to me and posted kind words. I read them all and really appreciated them.

My dad did pass away last week. Even though he was sick for two years, the end was actually so quick and still a shock even though we've know for awhile that it was inevitable.

His service is not until this Thursday so my brother and I have been busy with planning the service so my mom doesn't have to. I am also hosting the memorial service/celebration of life at my house after the service so there is a lot to do. It's been good keeping busy but I might just go crazy with all the people in my house!

If there is any silver lining it's that time has been flying by since I've been so preoccupied that all my significant dates are fast approaching. My pre-op testing is tomorrow morning. Last appt with the surgeon is Aug 1. And I'll have my surgery fully paid this week. Then its just surviving the 1 week liquid diet.

After all this is over, I'll start catching up and adding all the new people and dates to the member list. But not before I have a lot to drink this weekend!

Has anyone had the preop appointment yet? I haven’t been approved officially but I have a preop appointment also a surgery date. I’m a little concerned that I will have to cancel due to not being approved.

Hugs to you and your family @Ylime. Take all the time you need. We'll be here!

Pre-op testing was yesterday. Our entire office is moving across town on Friday and I'm so stressed right now. All hell is breaking loose and I'm still trying to pack. :60_sweat:

3 days until liquid diet. Pre-op appointments are 8/8 and 8/9.

If you look back at my posts...same thing. But apparently they submitted 2.5 weeks before surgery date. 1.5 weeks before preop date. So... here is to hoping same happens for you! Remember you can call your insurance and ask for an expedited review.

I was cleared by the psychologist on Friday, got clearance from the CPAP-Pulmonology dept, all of the pre-op classes are complete.

I reached out to the coordinator and she said, i've completed all the requirements...on to the surgeon consult.

Just waiting to be scheduled to meet the surgeon. I could have a date very soon.

So excited!

Thank you hopefully I’m just being very impatient and my coordinator actually is just very chilled and will get me approved on time that way we will be surgery twins (8-6) and can keep in each other motivated!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
