Well I guess I came back to the forum so may as well open with this: Surgery was 8/6/18, I am down from 350 lbs (pre-liquid diet) to 260 lbs (plateau maybe?).

I am able to walk more but still do not exercise.
If I eat carbs, I am hungry in 2 hours.
Nighttime snacking is a thing- nuts nearby help.
I get complemented about "how narrow I look" and I blush and hate it. Makes me wonder if it is a negative comment on my past self.
I returned to mental health treatment because both positive and negative stress- extra support on journey too.
I eat more and sometimes push it... even when I know I shouldn't.
Getting tested for IBS/Crohn's/Ulcerative Colitis. Hoping it is not something worse.
Need to drop 10 more lbs for a colonoscopy... I AM 33 YEARS OLD

I guess overall I am good. Still low energy but have energy at times. Definitely eat a lot less. Smaller sizes are being worn. I do feel better about myself.

Surgery cannot fix all your issues. But I shall take this about 90 lbs of weight loss and say to those who are thinking it may fix it all something one of my doctors said.
"You had the surgery. It is like being given a winning lotto ticket. It is now up to you to cash it in".

I am trying to cash it in. Obstacles are present, mostly my brain, but I will cash it in.

Just an update 1 week out. I gulp my liquids and am dehydrated which is my fault. I am at my 1st post op check in. And I lost 0. After 70% of my stomach was removed I lost nothing. I am eating less but also way under protien and way under liquids. I am having soups because I cant take much more cold things. I don't know anymore. What if I went through it all for nothing. What if I can't change my habits.

Oh no the pain is mostly away 1 week later. Incision area muscle pain yes...because I am coughing. It is major surgery. But you can get through it.

Had my surgery on the 6th. Despite a cheat day due to stress, my liver was small and pretty clean.
But let me tell you... GAS PAINS ARE NO JOKE.
Was in hospital until about 5pm today, pain is not fully gone but alas, was not prescribed anything but liquid tylenol, anti-nausea, and gabapentin. Pharmacy is out of the anti spasmodic.

Now that I am home and had some deep sleep, the coughing has started. With 5 incisions and gas pain and nausea, this is hell.

All well, since I pretty much have not been drinking, going to try to now. Maybe that plus the meds will also quiet the cough some.

    Best to all!

If only my stomach wasnt sending me waves of pain/nausea and I stopped coughing, I could work on my mind. Does anyone else taking liquid tylenol have it hurt them?

Day 2 for me too. Was 1.5 days in hospital, same surgery date, same surgery!

I still have gas pain and my stomach muscles hurt. I have trouble going from lying to sitting position to get out of bed and weirdly my calves are tight.
The first bowel movement... just had that. I thought I was farting out the gas. Oops?
I prefer sitting to laying. I try to walk a little each hour.
Chicken broth did help move more gas than my milked down protein shake.... and felt better in my stomach. But ices also felt nice. It just depended if I took my medicine right before that or not. My stomach is definitely still settling.

I had my RNY on Friday. Guess o wasn’t prepared for the gas pain. It was sooo bad. I’ve been told that my heart beat is slow. They checked it several times and couldn’t see anything wrong. I’m about to go home and I can’t wait to get in my bed. Thanks guys for checking on me. I really appreciate it!

Just had my Gastric Sleeve done August 2nd. Im getting out the hospital today, August 5th, because of some issues with nausea. No one told me that could be a thing but I’m doing better now. Also, I saw some posts about vitamins, amazon sells vitamins called barimelts. I got those and had to create a vitamin spreadsheet (for real) because there are so many and so complicated. Anyway, I’m a bit scared because I was supposed to be doing this with a family member but, due to medical reasons, couldn’t complete the surgery. So now I’m in this alone and am kinda freaked out now. Any help/advice, especially for this 1st month, would be appreciated

Yeouch, not good. Force fluids, couldn't hurt, if you weren't so close I'd suggest an antihistamine to reduce fluids my own PCP would recommend Lasix , I swear,he thinks diuretics and Prednisone Dose-packs cure the?!

Did anyone else get sick literally right before their surgery date? I am TOMORROW but I think I caught a bug when I went for pre-op testing (it was at the hospital) so didnt show symptoms until Thursday. All that is left is an earache (ow) and cough which is chronic for me....but I am worried they will cancel tomorrow morning! I am already off work, and would need a note to return at least a week before, and have been on shots (expensive). I don't think I can handle if they postpone!

Thanks so much for the support. I don’t have much family support I have a twin sister who is dead set against me and wants to bring up every negative thing she has heard about the surgery. But I do have a supportive daughter in California who might come home to be with me on that day.
