when do u start full liquids.that is much better than just clear.the sf pudding & fudgesicles are yummy.

I’m on full liquids now. I was only on Clear Liquids for one day after surgery. All I’ve been eating/drinking is Protein Shakes, Tomato Soup, broccoli cheese Soup that I blend up, apple sauce....and that’s it! Oh and lots of water!

Anyone have lower left pain?

@Marissa37, I perhaps can answer your question. The lower left incision , if you are a VSG is where they pulled, out your excised stomach portion. If you are a RnY, and possibly, all bypass varieties is where they put in the biggest gauge operating tools. Tends to be the biggest incision, the soredt incision and the one that takes the longest to heal. Sometimes they put extra stitching in there for reinforcement, one OP posted she felt something pop, pancked until her surgeon told her that's all it was. Sometimes all the gyrations that our gastrointestinal system has to go through makes you very tender inside. Give it a little time unless it gets rapidly worse, if it does either call your doctor or go to the E.R. 😛I hope this helps.

Seems most of you are having surgery soon. I'm at the very beginning. Met with surgeon and 2 weeks until my 1st of 7 months with the nutritionist. I know it will go fast but right now it feels it's dragging

I’m at the 4 th month of pre op and was given the green light and already lost the goal weight so now they want me not to loose anymore. That’s a first. So next is the psychologist appt and then I meet the surgeon in May. So it’s fast going they have you do so much.

I’m going good! Been going to the gym everyday and walking in the swimming pool for exercise. I’m having a hard time getting my Protein in though. I’m so sick of powder / Milk-based protein! So Iv been buying the Isopure juice. But it’s $45 for a case.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
