How much is everyone eating now?

Recommended Posts

So I just started my first couple of days with pureed foods and it was so nice to have some new options for food instead of sweet shakes and broth. My sleeve was done 3/16 and I can say I have had no issues with partaking in pureed foods so far. I measure very carefully and do not go over 4oz per sitting. When I feel a pain in my chest I know I am done and I stop eating no matter how much is left in my bowl/plate. I am just curious if this is typical to have no issues with pureed food? And are others at this stage also eating 4oz?

Been sleeved for15 months when you feel it in you chest your smart to stop cause when you feel it in you throat you will feel sick and vomit. Also, use small bowls and small plates. I use custard bowls and suacer size plates, and everyone else uses big bowl and big plates its really funny. I use small dishes because in my head I still think I can grab a normal plate and fill it up like I used to, which is absolutely hilarious because I cannot eat nowhere near that amount of food so why do I do it? Because I've done it all my life. So little saucer size plate = little portions ....and eat slowwwwwww ......

I think I've had pretty much the same experience you have, and haven't had any issues with puree or transitioning to other food now. I went on to puree after my first post surgery visit and the doctor basically said do this for a week and then start trying new foods and if they give you a problem, try something different.

I'm three months out and just got to 3-4oz but I think it might be different because I'm on solids. This is what my doc sent to me about the progression:

Your portions should advance as follows:

" From 2-3 months: your portions should be 2 oz total per meal or ¼ cup total per meal
" From 3-6 months: your portions should be 3 oz total per meal 1/3 cup total per meal
" From 6-9 months: your portions should be 4 oz total per meal or ½ cup total per meal
" From 9-12 months: your portions should be 6 oz total per meal or ¾ cup total per meal
" From 12+ months: your portions should stay at 8 oz total per meal or 1 cup total per meal

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
