Reviews of protein powders?

Recommended Posts

In prepping for my surgery, I am trying lots of stuff. Haven't tried unjury yet, but have chocolate Isopure. Its alright, I can drink it, but not all the time. I have to find out from the doc if I can add fruit to it.

Picked up the unflavored Protein today at GNC, Designer whey Protein, 19 grams protein per scoop and 90 calories, 1 gram fat, 2grams sugar. I want to add it to the Smoothie frozen kits I got at Target for $2.49 for a change of pace as well as to other stuff now to start to get ready too.

SlimFast is still my backup, liquid in the can, I can drink that all day, the Proteins aren't as high though.

I just bought some Spiru-tein from the health food store. I got a package with a mixing cup that you shake and it came with 7 samples of different flavors. I haven't tried it yet...will do tomorrow and let you know. I hope it's good, but I'm also pretty picky. :D

Okay, I mixed the vanilla Spira-tein powder last night and set it in the refrigerator overnight. My first visual impression wasn't that good...it was foamy and had a green tinge to it. However, my first sip was okay...not too much of an aftertaste. The kids liked it.

This morning, I sipped on the remainder. It's really not too bad. It had thickened up overnight and had a shake-like consistency. Not much aftertaste this time.

Hope that helps :)

A friend of mine who had Gastric Bypass a couple years ago recommended Champion Pure whey Stack and I LOVE it. I wasn't too crazy about the strawberry, and haven't tried the vanilla (too boring!) but the rest have been really good - Especially the banana Scream and Cocoa Mochacinno. You can get them at Vitalady.com - Protein supplements, Vitamins & Minerals, and Safe Snacks!, which actually has a lot of good recommendations and stuff. The couple who run it had gastric bypass and have compiled good tasting stuff and tips for others who have similar surgeries. Check it out!

Definitely! I think entirely too many people miss out on so much waiting for things to be "good" instead of getting out there and making the best of what you''ve gt right then! As for the Whey Stack, it really is good, and they'll send you samples for about 2 each if you want to try them out first. I was really impressed with them AND you can use paypal.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
