Excellent!! For me, it seemed like once I finished all my pre-op appointments, I started getting nervous like things were happening so fast. You'll be on that gurney before you know it, girl!!

@logicwand so days I’m so excited and some days I’m really nervous and I think about it constantly. I really need this change to help put me back on track . The odd part of it is I can’t really tell my family because everyone has their opinion. Only my husband and 2 close friends know .

I hear you. I had a panic attack the week before surgery. I definitely let things get to my head though. I kept thinking I'd rip the IV out of my arm once I was at the hospital in the pre-op room. LOL But, once I did get there, I stayed on that gurney. But I cried. So this is what it has come to, I thought. And then I thought, yeah, it has. Now get in that surgery room and get this taken care of so you can finally enjoy your life. I think the crying was therapeutic. It was like I was mourning the loss of my stomach before I'd go under. A subconscious farewell to my old way of life and it was sad. But every book has chapters, and I was ready to start a new one. You have your reasons for choosing surgery. Just keep thinking about them OVER and over again. Only YOU know what's right for you. And if that means you can't discuss it with family because they can't/won't understand it, so be it! They definitely don't need to know. I *am* glad to hear your husband and close friends know. That is FANTASTIC! And you are going to do great. Can't wait to read your future posts. Do you think surgery will be in May?

Logicwand I hope I join her there, I can also be a Panic Princess and if we go through it together we can, lean on each other's strength! You were a sleever, well as a future RnY I keep dreaming my surgeon sneezes and makes my pouch face the wrong way and spends an extra half-hour trying to rejoin my intestines. Totally groundless, mine has done so many he probably could do them in his sleep- although I'm hopeful the whole team will be wide awake,so you mentally waving bye bye to the stomach portion resonates with me. TropicalBeachDoll I promise to be your buddie, even if our dates don't align, okay? We can and will do,this, Girlfriend![emoji13][emoji173][emoji172][emoji13][emoji171][emoji13][emoji170]

Have psych eval for 2 hours April 25 and should know more after that. Don't worry I'm not giving up until I get my surgery. I'm hanging here the duration![emoji13][emoji12][emoji12][emoji12][emoji12][emoji12]Want mine over and done before August, that is my high school class reunion. I want to look fine and refined by then!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
