Had a home sleep study over the weekend. WORST. SLEEP. EVER. I had this head band thing with sensors on it, and it also took audio. So I couldn't sleep in my normal bedroom, because my husband also snores and his noise would come out on my test. Also couldn't use white noise machine, or have the tv on. So I slept on the couch. The thing kept falling off of my head and hitting me in the eyes and nose. the tube that goes up your nose (yes up your nose) would then fall out or push up. I couldn't move or it would move. I took it off to go to the bathroom even though they said don't take it off during the test. No way I was going to wear it in the bathroom. This thing was invasive enough as it was. Finally gave up with it after about 3.5 hours. Woke up with an amazing head ache and feeling like I had a hangover. Jeez. How in the world do people sleep with a complete cpap on their face??? i'm concerned about this part of compliance. what if I cant do it?

This is the very reason it's better to do such tests at the sleep lab.

LOL try sleeping at a proper sleep study... leads on your head, face, arms, legs, chest straps, blood o2 sensor, unfamiliar location with a camera pointed at you.

The CPAP takes some getting used to, but there are a LOT of different styles and sizes. But, it's an important medical device, if you need it, you NEED IT. If you aren't compliant, they might not do your surgery.

Just finished my at home sleep test the other day it was a device with a band that went around my chest and a nasal cannula and pulse ox. The nasal cannula was the worst !!

Omg I just did my sleep study last night. Worst thing ever. I was up damn near all night. She said I did sleep enough to get a good reading but I was hooked up to all different wires and had a finger thing on and something up my nose.. It was horrible. I've been up since 4am. I'm exhausted. I cannot wait to sleep tonight. I wish they would've let me do it at home. They had wires stuck to my head... Ugh lol

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
