They are keeping me until 15th. Did anyone have any problems drinking anything after sugery?

Yes. After surgery, the Water in the hospital tasted excessively chlorinated - like swimming pool water. I could drink it. I liked the crushed ice but I like the sugar free popsicles even better.

I was surprised that I basically did not have any trouble drinking after surgery. Each person is going to be a little different and have a problem area specific to them. I know I should be up and walking but the incision pain is too great right now. At least I don't have gas pain. Good lord, I had to sneeze and nearly screamed. However, I'll take pain over nausea and vomiting. I don't feel like walking right now. I tried but couldn't get my shoes on. I'll try again later today.

James and Matt, Columbus Ohio gets their Water from surface Water, rivers and dams, it is both chlorinated and artifically fluorinated, has been known to leave bleached out spots on laundry. Maybe I'll take bottled water with me, I'm spoiled, my small city draws from an artesian aquifer underground, it tastes very nice in comparison.

VanessaKaye if you have to sneeze or cough hold your pillow against your tummy, that's called splinting and it is an unbelievable help!

That's a brilliant idea! I'll keep a pillow handy in case this happens again.

I am already a veteran of. 1 open abdominal incision, I have my Bari Bear just waiting, I bought him off Valentine Clearance at Wally World for $1.25 because I knew he had the right dimensions. No I didn't try him out in public on my belly, I just eye-balled him. Now to get my surgery, no further developements as yet. I arise every morning and then get more and more disappointed as the day goes on. I am impatient, it hasn't even been a full week yet. Yeah Rome wasn't built in a day but it would have been had I been in charge of the project!
I go around singing " do they love me? I've got to know, if they don't please tell me so!" Yes I'm a tired old 60s song! I hope-a , I wanna I need it so! Yep there I go again, hope I don't go into my second childhood before I get to finish my current adulthood.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
