Bruises???

Recommended Posts

Is it normal to have a bruise after a fill? I had my fill on Tuesday, but I just noticed this big black bruise today. The radiologist jabbed that needle into my port so hard, I felt like I had been punched in the stomach. No wonder I have felt so tender all week! As if my purple incision weren't purty enough!!!

Gee, I have a bruise the size of a pencil point, but no fill, boo hoo! Wouldn't it be a itch if he put a hole in my inner band since he missed the port. I think I'm going to insist we do the flouro thing to be sure, whatta ya think?

I get a big ole bruise everytime... plus... the whole area is swollen after... they do have to dig a bit to find mine and I also bruise easily. You should have seen my post-op bruises... LOL... they were quite impressive.

LOL!!! Marie, your killin me!

Pat, I think you should insist on the flouro. The reason my dr and his partner are having fills done in radiology is because fills are not as easily done as they had been led to believe. It's been hell for them and hell for us patients, both. BTW, you never did 'splain the fainting part of your fill! Wha happen???

I didn't actually faint, they just thought I was going to because I lost all my color, got so sick on my stomach and clammy. I do plan on calling him Monday to discuss the flouro, otherwise he will not know if he messed up my port. Also, if you remember, I'm the first bandster, although he has done over 500 gastro bypasses He also said he had experience with the port by way of the chemo admin for cancer patients.

When we first talked at the support meeting the other night he said he was going to do it at the hospital, then I asked who was paying and he said, well lets go ahead and do it at the office.

Since this was a package self pay between him and the hospital, I think the flouro should be included, at least until he's more experienced with the fills.

By the way, how do you adjust the ticker once you've lost more weight? Do you have to reselect everything all over again each time you want to make a change?

Blossom, where's your picture and I just a had a mint Zone bar, thought about you, LOL.

Hello,

I got a fill on Thursday, you should see the bruise I have! My doctor said he "busted a blood vessel" because my port was playing hide and seek! I have not had that happen before but it was very uncomfortable when it "busted". I bruise easily but I've never had a bruise like this~ this is even uglier than my post surgery bruise!

If I could figure out how to post a picture, I would send the gross picture! Have a great evening!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
