1 week post op -19lbs

Recommended Posts

I had my post op visit on 2/22/18 and everything went really well.

I am down -19lbs since my surgery on 2/12/18.

My doctor said to focus on hydration and exercise.

I am happy with those results and trying to push myself into a healthier mentality. Like getting up to exercise, drinking Water everywhere I go, getting to bed at a decent time, resisting the foods that got me here, etc. I really want a Philly Cheesesteak.

Sleeved on 2/12/18

That's a lot of weight to lose in your first 10 days! Sounds like things are off to a really good start. Nah, you don't really want that cheesesteak, you just think you do. It's also good that you're working to establish a routine. That will be helpful later on.

Damn! Congrats! What have you been eating? Can you share your menus?

I'm day 4 and have only lost 3 lbs of the regain weight. Was 222.4 the morning of surgery, went up to 227.8lbs, now 224.2lbs this morning. So it's not even new, virgin weight loss territory! :(

@FluffyChix Time for a "damn batman" moment! :-) You're only 4 days outta surgery and you've set some awfully high expectations. You're doing great. When I go to get my insides re-routed on March 12th, I am going in with the absolute worst expectations - to lose a pound a week if that. That way I'll be pleasantly surprised. Also, I am not gonna be married to the fooking scale. I'll weigh myself when I feel like it. From my previous (short term) successful weight loss attempts, I learned that as long as I am honest with myself, track everything, and follow the prescription diet to a T, I don't need a scale to show me that I am losing weight. I am more than a number.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
