anyone have BCBS of NC insurance?

Recommended Posts

hello all, I am new to this forum and live in North Carolina . my first consultation was in November 2017 , I am in pre-op status now... I ahve finished all the stuff on the checklist...I just have the endoscopy to do and then we submit everything to BCBS of NC for approval ... hoping I do not have to wait 12 months ... I have been working with my primary doctor for 2 plus years, trying medical diets, etc... and she has vouched for me and has provided me with her letter of recommendations and all the documentation stating my attempts of dieting. I am wondering if this can count towards the 12 months so I don't have to wait.. Any input would be greatly appreciated! :)

Hi glamgirl,@fireman in Greenville will be so,happy to see another North Carolinian on here. Where in that beautiful state are you located? My daughter and her husband lived for a short in Roanoke Rapids in Halifax County. I hope your stuggles, with BCBS are small and over soon. I'm in Central Ohio and will, have RnY within the next 6 weeks. I've done a lot of studies and would be happy to be a resource person for you on this journey. Sunny Days and a Bright,Future for you.

Waiting to hear the results of this as well. My friend is interested and has BCBS of NC as well. Yes another North Carolinian. I can’t be of help as I am paying for mine. This is interesting as my doctors office told me insurances don’t cover DS. However I’ve seen a couple people in the forum they have had theirs covered by Insursnce-United Health Care. Anyway good luck! P

Currently waiting on a surgery date. Hope to hear soon. I have been fighting for the sleeve surgery for 10 years. I am so ready!

How can a bowel movement make me lose almost 4 pounds? How much poo am I full of?

I haven't pooped in a weed and I'd love a 4 pound poo right now lol

Lol, yeah, I've been known to drop 3-ish lbs after a good (and long awaited) poop.

.....or even after a moderate to severe dumping episode. yikes.

I met with my surgeon on Friday.. I've completed all my tests and all my nutrition meetings as well as meeting the weight loss requirements for my insurance. We are officially submitting to insurance for approval and I was given a surgery date of January 16th 2020 (13 days before my birthday!) Fingers crossed all goes through

Ok, now im getting old...my body gets me up at my normal 5am dog walk even when it's the weekend, vacation, and most importantly when I'm sick. So now that I have more energy, my body wants to make sure I suffer even longer during the day when I have a cold! Damn being healthy again! (:D)
