Day 7/21 - not too bad. I am getting bored with the Protein Drinks 2x but pushing through. The lean meal and veggies are a sanity saver! I can also have 2-3 Snacks. I’ve been consuming 700-900 calories a day. 2 more weeks and then the real fun starts!

I'm on day 8 and today was the first day I felt great. Every other day was a struggle and I felt horrible. My surgery is a week from today, so I'm trying to keep my eyes on the prize. Good luck and stay strong!!

Day 2 of 14. Long meeting away from the office. It started with donuts and ended with pizza. Seriously, why??? I held firm, tho -- skipped the donuts, had salad for lunch, then inhaled a Protein Shake and a banana when I finally got back at 3PM. Got my eyes on the prize! Slight headache.

How come? Not sure...maybe it just doesn't seem real to me. I have eaten the correct Water amount and Protein Shakes and meals. I have eaten junk though probably every 2-3 days.

I guess because I know a few people who all cheated before and have been really successful since they had it and they told me they cheated.

I hear you. I’ve been sticking to it for the most part; although I have a friend who only was required to do the diet for 3 days prior (and was fine) and another who freaked out and ate a cheeseburger the night before (also totally fine.)

It’s not good advice but it does help alleviate major fears.

Yeah I know. I just hate seeing everyone act all offended on here if someone cheats and it has my anxiety kicking in that I didn't have until I came on here and started reading posts.

Some here that have gone through the surgery and posted on my post I created got all judgmental. We ALL have food issues or we wouldn't be having the surgery and if they followed the pre-op diet then they wouldn't need the surgery... To judge some who struggles kinda annoys me since they have been there and eaten way to much to get to the point they needed surgery.

Anyway, I didn't quit smoking as soon as I should have, BUT I did quit almost 2 weeks ago and I cheated on pre op. I pray everything goes well for me and when it is over I believe all I will need is the ability to not eat to get me over my cravings. My friend who had it says she didn't want to eat...I believe that is the boost everyone who has the surgery needs.

This pre op diet is a challenge. I mean. I haven't had any carbs intentionally in 9 days, but I haven't followed it exactly. I have eaten more Protein and veggies than I'm supposed to but I've also been sick for almost all of it and it's been miserable. I want all the carbs. In 9 days I've lost 8 pounds. I can relate when you say it doesn't seem real. Like I have been having so much trouble believing this is actually going to happen. So while I'm disappointed that I haven't been super strictly following 100 percent, I'm trying to remember I have cut out all refined carbs, sugars and caffeine. That's a lot!

Some people are able to stick to it [emoji817] and that's great for them. But we're human, and we're going to have moments of weakness. Don't beat yourself up over it. I know exactly what you mean when you say it doesn't seem real. I've been heavy for so long that I can't see myself any other way, but at the same time, I don't feel like a fat girl. Does that make sense?

I've cheated. My first week, I ate smoked chicken wings and a grilled chicken breast. My husband ate a ham and cheese sandwich his first week too. Trust me, cheating is happening!! Hubby and I have stuck to it [emoji817] this second week but trust me, it's been HARD!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
