Recommended Posts

It' Just i have to hold my stomach up as I walk and I came down with a cold so I have to hold my stomach in when I have to cough smh, it' the worst I mean goodness. Also when I drink my stomach is very painful as the drink is going down, why is That? Will it get better soon? I think I'm having gas too,. When I do drink I have the urge to burp as well but nothing really do just lil tiny burps sometimes.

I didn’t have a drain, i got chewable had x and would cut them in 1/2. That helped. IF you stomach still hurts u might want to call the doctor and check. I have had no pain just trying to adjust to liquids for a month and now a little food.

My husband had his sleeve done in September. And was still in a lot of pain a week out. And yes drinking made his stomach hurt. Try different temps for the liquids. We found that cold hurt less. I had bypass in July and I couldn't and still can't have cold, i have to have room temp or start to hurt. Once you finally get all the gas out and the swelling goes down, you will start to feel better. This stage you are in is what my surgeon calls "swell hell" it does get better. This is just a bump, in the road. Warm showers also help get that gas moving and help reduce swelling some. Hugs...remember that pillow is your friend use it.

Did your surgeon give you a belly binder ? I’m getting one and I know after c section I used mine and it helped a ton. Just an idea ? :)
Also if you try a stuffed animal or folded up blankets instead of your hand helps so much more with the coughing pains. Just hold it close.
Have you tried gas x strips for the gas ? I’ve seen many swear by them.
Hope this helps :)

It’s a wide stretchy band of fabric that you pull all your stomach close to your body (compression). It really helped me with pain. Especially when sitting or bending over.
They have them on Amazon. Maybe you can ask your dr what they think?

:( hope they work soon for you. Has pain stinks.

I’m so sorry for you, I had horrible pain for 2 weeks post op. I was lucky enough to have my husband take off work that entire time to take care of our kid. I called my doc and they suggested I rest and take the pain meds. So I did. I was functional for the most part but I did sleep a lot. Just when I thought I was never going to be able to do any movement that involved my abs, it just stopped hurting overnight. I’m 30 days post op now and I still burp down all my drinks, but they don’t hurt anymore. Hang in there!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
