Are you allowed Isopure? Very sweet but I cut it with Water. 40g Protein per bottle.

I will definitely ask my dietitian. Thank you for the idea.

I guess im just going to have 4 premiers a day and if im still hungry i will have an extra one . any tips on broth?

My wife threw chicken in a pot, with chopped carrots and celery, some salt, and some whole peppercorns (makes them easier to filter out). Once boiled for a while, she let it cool. Then took all the fat that solidified off the top, strained the broth out, then we would rewarm it for me to drink. It was so nice to have a savory type of flavor. It was just a nice change of flavors more than anything.

I am 2 1/2 mo the post op and just wanted to give you all a fair warning that what you find satisfying with you shakes now will more than like change after surgery, I loved the powder muscle milk with almond milk but post op I can’t handle it. So I only get the Premier Protein. My surgeon wants me to have 60 grams of Protein a day from shakes.

I’m on post op 3 days now. The dr wants me to have a minimum of 60 g of Protein. I am allergic to dairy products (the protein in it) and today I started the full liquids. I have always drank almond milk with my spiru-tein Protein Powder for about 30 yrs for Breakfast. I tried 1 oz of just the almond milk plain to see how it would go and was fine. Then I added the protein powder in. Worked great. Also found it was good thickness to put any crushed supplements in. The dr says as long as I get my 3-4 “meals” with at least 20 g of protein then in between as much other fluids. He said it would be hard the first week or two. For my “lunch” I had a cup of the boxed butternut squash Soup with a scoop of my protein powder in it. Tastes good and feel like getting some substance now. I have low blood sugar so I will be having more like 6 little meals and then the fluids in between. I wasn’t able to drink the full cup but over time I got most of it. I am tired today but getting a little more “solid” seems to help some.

The chewable Vitamin was surprisingly filling. I’m poking a hole in my vit D and squeezing it into the Protein Drinks. Works well. The program gave us a little to keep track of what and how much we are getting in and I’ve added a couple of my own things I’m tracking. (Bp/temp/pulse) at the top have the date and that mornings weight.

this has been much better than I had expected but do tire easily but haven’t had a lot of sleep.

i had gained about 8 lbs in the hospital due to the iv fluids but just about done with that. Almost back to morning of surgery weight...

hope this may help in some way!

Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
