Ive done about 6 Laos today. Off of IV pain meds, just orals. Getting in about 2-3 ounces every 2-3 hours. Still feeling depleted but better for sure. Thanks for thinking of me.

Update. They removed my drainage tube and I feel 50% better from that. Only two spots of the hiccups so far. Medication resolved that quickly. I had an ounce of juice this morning and a lap around. Feeling better.

Update: I’m two weeks post op and down 40lbs from pre op diet and loss after. Doing well, just struggling with the purée diet. But I go to soft foods on Monday. My energy level is awful. I have this wall that I hit after about 30 minutes of physical activity. All in all, glad I did this :)

Congrats on a 40lb loss and on a super report!!! It's really normal to "hit walls" when recovering. So many things at play. Rest when you can!!! And glad you're back and can play with us!!!

Hi guys. Sorry is been a weird few weeks and I haven’t gotten on here but, I’m still doing well. On soft foods this week and haven’t had any problems with anything thus far. I have hit a stall, which is more of a bummer than I thought it would be. Staying positive. Thanks again for everyone’s continued support.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
