Non Scale Victories

  • Popular Post

I had surgery on 11/29 and I’m trying to not focus too much on the numbers on the scale or on my clothes.

My non scale victories since 11/29

Had to have a spacer put on my wedding ring

I’m wearing a coat I haven’t worn in 2 yrs

I got rid of my pre-surgery work uniforms

I’ve cleaned my closet twice already

What are your non scale victories?!

I parked in a tight parking space and was still able to squeeze out of my door, without touching the car next to me. In the past I would not have been able to get out of my car.

  • Sometimes NSV are the best victories! I've had quite a few in the last year but here are some: I can fit comfortably in the chairs in our conference room at work, the arms used to dig into my leg

  • etc. etc. etc.
    etc. etc. etc.

This week, my kid took off running across the park area near his after school care... and I ran after him and caught him. He was as delighted as I was. I don't think he had ever seen me run.

Today I discovered completely by accident that I can wrap a bath towel around me comfortably. No more need for extra large bath “sheets”! Omg!

Similar to towels fitting comfortably ...

Hotel robes - Not only do they fit, but they have plenty of extra room to wrap around me!

It's crazy the amount of ordinary things that you cannot enjoy when you are a certain size. I have a long way to go before I am anywhere near your loss, but I am beyond thrilled with the progress so far. So many things that thin people take for granted that I am so happy about.

Omgggg. I went overseas and ALL of the towels there were like... hand towels on me. I could barely cover a boob. So embarrassing! That'll be a nice thing to experience. lol!

Today my pants fell down at work. Does that count as a victory?

(No one was in the hallway at the time so... thank god for that. lmao.) I'm riding out these baggy pants as long as humanly possible.

Yaaaas! Whenever we’d stay in a hotel, my husband would wear the robe and I’d be pretty jealous. We were just a hotel and even though I’ve got a ways to go, the robes were massive on me! ?

Lol, well, that dress is old enough to be going to its own prom (I’m 34, so it’s 16 years old) and this is the first time since high school I’ve fit into it :)

Wowweee. I'm seriously impressed and it's a lovely prom dress too, you could totally wear that as an evening dress now!

So, I bought some tall boots online and ordered a size down, which I knew my feet had shrunk), and wide width and they were too wide. I love the boots though so fortunately they have a little strap to tighten the boot and I’ve had to make a hole all the way at the other end of the strap so they they don’t look too big. I can wear them with Jeans and still have lots of room around the calf. Didn’t realize how much my calves have shrunk. My legs have always been big especially my calves.

As of today, I am obese. Normally, the knowledge of being obese is pretty distressing, but pre-op, I was "Morbidly Obese", then I scaled down to "Severely Obese". As of today, I am merely "Obese. The next hurdle is to get to merely "Overweight", and hopefully, someday, "Healthy Weight". So yay for being obese, LOL.

My dream is to be merely overweight, but my goal might still be at the bottom of obese. Forget what BMI 175 and 5ft8in is, maybe 30? Guess I should look it up, yeah.
