I am 53 and have lost 45kgs so far. My 52L cup bra size is down to 46k. So I am rolling them up and stuffing them into the bra at this point. I will definitely need a breast reduction and lift since they are dangling around my hips and as for nipples, I haven't seen them in a long time lol. bring it on I say. I really am not bothered by the stomach but would like my batwing arms done when I get down to goal, but have a long way to go yet. I think age plays a big part in it, my thighs are round my knees already so I expect that is going to definitely need to be done. Will have to start saving now for it. But still need to lose another 55kgs.

Something I have notices is I have a rather large thyroidectomy scar on my throat and as I lose weight the skin seems to be bulging above it, giving my neck a rather lumpy look. Anyone else have a similar problem with previous scars?

I have! I have the same scar. It kinda looks like my neck is connected to my body. Underneath is caved in and above it, it isnt bumpy, to me anyway, it does seem like the more I lose in my face, the more noticeable the top is, as it sticks out further. I was 350 when starting 1/1/16 and lost alot of weight since. I have the surgery on 10/17/16 i was down 90 lbs on my own. I am now 205. I had the thyroid surgery in 11/2016. So i think that boost was a part in the weightloss.

You are small enough I believe to not have major loose skin. I would recommend you buy some Bio Oil and start using that right away. It helps minimize stretch marks and keeps the skin in great condition while you go through weight loss. Its what pregnant moms use on their belly as well as bariatric clients. Use it on your stomach, your outer thighs and inner thighs and under arm flap

I am wondering how many people need plastic surgery after the gastric sleeve. I am 5’6 and weigh 235, and I am starting the process for gastric sleeve. I am realistic that a little skin sag may be a possibility, but I am worried about drastic skin sag and my insurance not covering any needed surgery.

I am 37 years old and my goal weight is 140-150, so I would be looking at around 80 pounds. I’ve lost weight before and never had the loose skin, but I am older now and the weight loss would be much faster. I am also a teacher so plastic surgery will never but in my budget, lol.

Has anyone lost a lot of weight and not needed surgery afterwards for skin?

Now that it has been a year, where are you on the plastic surgery debate now?

I’m 43 and my neck is definitely a turkey neck . I’m down 67 pounds from 9/21/17 sleeve date . Flappy arms and all. I had my sleeve in Mexico . Def want a mommy makeover.

My neck went full GOBBLE! I’m also almost 54 AND it’s the family look! My heaviest was 260 (8 years ago). I was about 150 when I had my neck lift. At 7 weeks post neck lift I’m down to 139 but my neck seems to be pretty firm still. Thank heavens!
The batwing arms and melting inner thighs are just going to have to continue flapping. I can’t even think about the boobs. They are former beautiful DD’s posing as played out, deflated balloons. Oddly, my skin-skirt belly is shrinking really nicely in spite of my old size and my current age. Who’d a thunk?!

I am now almost 6 months post VSG. I am happy to say that I have no issues with loose skin yet, and I have lost 47 pounds. I currently weigh 182 and my personal goal is 170. My doctors want me around 160, but I want to hold on to a little bit of my curves, lol. I have been stalled for a month, so I think these last few pounds are going to fall off very slowly.

There are some people that need the skin removed because of the infections they get. If you have a doctor and a great billing department to fight for you, and every skin infection is documented with photos your insurance may pay. Others just feel better mentally with the skin removed.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
