I'm gonna hang out with my fantastic hubby and daughter who is home from college:) Daughter is doing some homework (premed major, always working) and hubby had to run into work on an emergency....but we're expecting to be able to be together at noon and do something fun:) Daughter's highschool boyfriend is coming over later and we're gonna have a Twilight Zone marathon and maybe play a board game. Yep, we play board games. Cause we're goofy that way. And I love it. We are a culture of nerd people.

Kiddo and I hit the sales yesterday and got a gift for hubby, and some awesome Columbia waterproof 30 below warm boots to wear walking through campus all winter. She walks to campus and all over the place....Ann Arbor is a pedestrian town. Got a great deal on the boots, and took Grandma with us. My mom is a crazypants. The nut doesn't fall far from the nut tree. Was a good time:)

Day five of the liquid diet from hell.....I will be good. Drink my repulsive shakes, eat my repulsive Jello and broth....and keep my eye on the prize.

I'm celebrating a great Texas Tech victory last night and about to go hiking with some friends. I'm up in West Texas visiting my dad for the holiday so this evening will cook him dinner (chili) and enjoy watching football. Then drive home tomorrow.

Creekimp- tell your daughter good luck with her studies. I am a physician and the hard work is worth it.

I"m taking my son to see Coco while my husband and daughter are working in a fundraising booth at the UO/OSU game. I am also in the process of cleaning out and selling a ton of crap that has been lying around.

Yeah. The weight loss clinic's exercise physiologist finally asked last Wednesday week if I was ready to go back to the pool? (He knows about my knee and ankle pain which limit my walking comfort. He was aware that I was only getting in 2900-4500 steps per day.

I have NO trouble at the pool. The flotation aspect means that joint pain is near to zero once I'm in the Water.

Attached table shows the impact of getting back to the pool last Saturday week. The eight consecutive days of improvement is good. (Just annoyed that the pool opens at 8am on a Sunday and 5am on other days; it's 7:15am Sunday now.)

TABLE_EXERCISE.thumb.JPEG.606f17f631b415c4e2c94018b0eaaf1c.JPEG

Slow (trickle-speed) breaststroke is comfortable and I drag it out long enough for a training effect. Add some chest-deep wading up and down the lanes and I build my lower leg muscles a bit.

I meet with him again on 6th DEC and I think he'll be impressed with my progress.

As for sweat, it's a non-event at the pool. I actually suppose the energy goes somewhere but the water's too cold 20C (67F) to feel/notice any sweat.

I can see and feel a muscular change after eight days of this already. A couple of belt buckle holes, looser slacks ... NSVs.

The scales only see 1.5kg (3.4 pounds) change but there's more.

I love the pool. All summer I would run for almost 2 hours in the pool. It's harder in the winter with limited hours at the pool at the gym, but I still much prefer it to land.

Today, I did an hour of reformer based Pilates and then did 45 minutes of strength training, including dead lifts and sled pushing. And I'm spending some time with my older daughter who is home from college for the weekend.

You are a brave woman to go out and fight against the black friday shoppers. That qualifies as a workout to me. Nice bargain! I'm sure Mr fluffy appreciates it.

Family days are wonderful. Cleaning out extra stuff takes the clutter off my mind. Feels good after it's done...Right?

Whoop Whoop! Build that muscle. Eight days of improvement and weight loss is an achievement. Congratulations! I'm envious of swimmers. It's the one activity that I struggle with. :P

11/25/17 my twenty four hours.

Broke my toe on a run yesterday. Just annoying nothing major. Sundays are my day off from the gym. Spending time watching football and relaxing with my husband.

Working on quieting my mind. I'm all over the place with lists of things to complete....It's affecting my sleep.

Raking leaves and yard work this afternoon for exercise.

meal planning for the week, grocery shopping and prepping.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
