I am pre-op, but not the liquid phase yet...I'm just trying to keep it under 1200 calories. I will be praying this week (Thanksgiving week) for those of you on liquids prior to surgery, for those who recently had surgery and are on a restricted phase and even those who are post op who eat what they want... the most dangerous phase. The struggle is real. God bless us all.

Right back at ya! The family and I are flying to my moms for Thanksgiving. I know it will be difficult, but I have decided that I'm going to make a side dish of a healthy vegetable to avoid the over-abundance of casseroles that are always present, and a healthy dessert so I can avoid the cake and pie that will surely be there. With some turkey breast hopefully I can keep it fairly healthy. Once I get the lay of the land (buffet table) I am going to allow myself one cheat item if I really want it.

I had a bottle of Torani sugar-free pumpkin Pie flavor and a bottle of the regular Pumpkin Spice flavor sent to my moms house so we can make pumpkin spice lattes - sugar-free for me and anyone watching their weight, regular for the people who would cringe at the sugar-free option.

Luckily because we're flying mom can't try to send me home with plates full of leftovers!

Stay strong everyone!

Thanks for caring so much. My hubby and I have decided to skip the BIG dinner at my daughter's house this year because we don't want to be faced with the leftovers. We are going out for dinner. NO MESS & NO FUSS!!! We each have to do whatever it is that gets us thru it!! May we all have a Happy Thanksgiving and Celebrate each other and not the food!!

Thank you for your kind words. Thankfully my family is super supportive and making healthier options so I'm excited!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
