Almost one year post op water

Recommended Posts

I will be a year post op in December and I am currently struggling with fluids. I was never a big Water drinker pre or post op during the fall/winter season. However, during spring and summer I do well on liquids. Now I am getting in an average 16 oz a day, I am still getting in my food but even that is getting skimpy. Any ideas on low calorie drinks (I don't like tea) and are Meal Replacements an option this far out?

I'm sorry but this sounds like no brainer - if you can drink physically in the spring and summer I don't understand why you need help this far out just because of a season change? I'm confused?

This sounds like a mind game. You have to drink or you will ruin your kidneys - do you want kidney failure, heart problems? I am serious.

@Lise2021

every morning i drink GNC/Total Lean

Shake (swiss chocolate) - helps get

my Protein for the day. (25 gr) 14 oz.

liquids! the crystal light is an old

but true good suggestion/idea.

gotta push yourself, you must!! easier

said than done. But do it, for me? lol !!

@Sosewsue61 - for me too, it's easier to drink

when the weather is warm -(referring to

different seasons) i am more thirsty.

@Lise2021 - drinking to your health!;)

good luck

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
