Down 30 lbs on this challenge....what?

I mentally calculated 29.6 pounds.

Congratulations on a fantastic accomplishment!

Well, thank you. As I said before, it's my best SUMMER/XMAS for many seasons here from November to January. (Yes, readers, Australia's seasons are 'inverted'. We are mid-summer right now.)

I wanted to achieve that 34 pound loss in the period. It was very good to go close.

The success is borne out by an old Wayne Gretzky story.

A journalist (years ago) said to Gretzky (in his prime), "Geez, Wayne, you have an average 4.7 shots on goal for each goal you score. That's a lot of wasted shots."

Gretzky said: "Yeah, and I never score any goals from the shots I don't take."

That's how I feel about missing my 304 target ... I went way closer to this very target than any targets I'd previously set in other years.

You just posted one of my all time favorite quotes! I told that to my husband years ago, and he still uses it on my today!! Love it.

Final weigh in is 220. Didn’t come close to my goal for this challenge, but at least it’s heading in the right direction. Thanks for running this challenge!

Forgot to post yesterday, 215!! Goal was 220. Next goal- get below 200 which i have not seen in probably 20 years!!!

Thank you so much Kel for running this. It is so helpful to have accountability friends who understand the challenges with this process, especially since I am still learning myself!

Looking forward to a new challenge to stay on course!

Whoops, I never got my final weight in for this challenge last night. Yesterday I saw 158 on the scale for the first time, and it was there again today. I am losing verrrrry slowly but steadily.

i was supposed to get down to 154, which was too ambitious, but I didn’t know. But for the first time in my adult life I LOST WEIGHT DURING THE HOLIDAYS. I baked and baked and baked. I love to bake goodies. And I ate how much of the sweets I baked? How much did I eat? NONE NONE NONE NOT ONE BITE.

No one but you guys can understand that, how huge that is. Each week I throw away a plate of Cookies or something because my family just can’t eat that much. Meaning I used to eat 10 of them a day probably. I don’t eat Desserts at all. And I get still lots of pleasure from baking them, it now is like crafting or woodwork or ceramics (that smell really good) to me. Why would I gain weight at the holidays now? I d like to hope this lasts forever. I eat Protein, and a bit of veg and seeds/beans, and I’m not going to pig out on them, ever. Right? I don’t eat processed carbs any more.

Thanks for this challenge. I am very happy to be in the 150s even if I am 5 lbs more than I imagined. I consider it a total success.

GREAT JOB!!! And the biggest victory is the ability to say no the bad crap, and you marched right through the holidays, so hats off to you!! Like you, I love to cook and bake, and try my best not to eat them. ;-) Congrats on your success in the challenge!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
