Hello all, I've been a member here for about a year and some change. I've been through pre-op stuff for a sleeve for about 2 years now. Tomorrow the 31st of Oct. is my big day! I'm with Dr. Terasena's office and they are great.

I am looking for a support buddy who can hold me accountable as well as just talk to. My father is very worried, my mom is supportive as is my grandmother.

However, nothing beats having someone to email or speak with online. Thanks again.

I just discovered this website today- I am scheduled for surgery on Monday and I'm local in Virginia Beach!

I could definitely use someone to talk to- if you are still looking let me know :)

Dr Adams did my sleeve on 11/20! We could definitely meet up- I'm finally clear to drive again, so maybe we could get together soon? I'm in Virginia Beach, but can go pretty much anywhere.

I had my follow up phone call a week after surgery and I had been off of narcotics for three days already so they gave me the OK to drive.

Hello All, My name is Lori and I just had my surgery on 11/28 by Dr. Terracina. I live in Hampton and would love to have someone to talk to who is going through the same things as I am. I find i'm having a hard time with the Protein intake along with some sharp deep pain. I understand its normal to have pain after a major surgery like this but its still frustrating all the same. If any of you, or all of you would like to talk, that would be great!

That's good, I'm dreading not being able to drive! I would love to either meet or do a group chat. If you all are interested, feel free to message me your names and phone number and I can add everyone into a group text and that way we can coordinate a meet up or at least have people to text for questions and support! It looks like most of us used the same surgeon group with bon secour! I think that will definitely help with having the same kind of requirements and dietary rules!

A week after I was off of the pain medication I slowly started back driving again. I have been pleasantly surprised that I've healed as well as I have.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
