Okay TMI and I am so sorry but I got my first period after surgery today and my hormones are WHACK. I mean, they've been off since I've been losing weight but not like this. I literally cried because I didn't like how chicken salad smelled. I cried because I didn't like the flavor of Mio I bought.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with hormones? I'm worried I'm gonna cry if I drop my pen at work tomorrow LOL!

I've heard of this happening in drastic weight loss due to the excess hormones and drugs we take get stored in fat. So as we burn the fat we are also getting mega doses of hormones and drugs (perscription).

I hope it gets better. I'm pretty surgery working through the program.

You poor baby!!!! I haven’t had any emotion changes but my period has legit been on for 2 weeks on and off. Some days it’s full some days it’s off then some days it’s just spotting. My doctor told me this is common since I have PCOS and I haven’t had a period since 2 months pre op. But It definitely SUCKS. If it’s not off my my next follow up I’m getting medication to stop it

A nice cuppa, a soft blanket and some Netflix might help?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
