Ugh lesson learned! I have been eating pretty healthy for the last 3 months, not adding butter or salt etc to foods, cutting carbs and avoiding extra fatty greasy foods. Today I decided to make one of my old unhealthy go to Snacks, big mistake! I feel horrible 🤢 I couldn’t even finish it, giving it to the dogs. I don’t know why I decided to eat it but I won’t be making that mistake again. I guess I needed a reminder to stick to the plan, it’s there for a reason. I do not think I will be having an unhealthy “last supper” I do not like this feeling. Now I’m wondering how I ever ate that stuff, this does not feel good at all 🤢

Actually this is fantastic. It's great that You feel the difference when you fuel your body with nutritional food. You are on the right track to being healthy.

Since I ate that I started paying attention to other things as well. I started thinking about what I could eat to “soak up” the greasy salty feeling, everything that came to mind was equally as gross and would start a cycle of eating poorly to fix the last poor meal I ate. In the past I would’ve eaten those things, now I plan to get rid of them and not bring them back. I’m glad that after all of these years I am finally starting to understand, I don’t know why it took me so long.

Have a great day!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
