I used pre-packaged broth and also made my own using cut beef bone from the Asian market, carrots, celery, onion, salt and pepper. First I braise the beef bones then add a few cut up celery stalks, chunked whole carrots and onion. Boil for a couple of hours and salt and pepper to taste. Then strain out the solid ingredients. I also add a little fresh lemon juice and a little finely chopped fresh cilantro and jalapeno just before serving. The home-made broth made the liquid diet far more palatable and I looked forward to having it for dinner.

My surgery is the 8th, as well!! I was so proud of myself yesterday; I went to pick up cat food and some more sf Jello for myself and I didn't break down and buy any junk food to sneak into my diet.

Welcome to day 4!!

My surgery date Nov. 7. I started my liquid diet Tuesday 10/24/17 and so far I've lost 5lbs. Praying for 15 more before surgery.

Did anyone else have horrible headaches? I'm really suffering and don't know if it's like caffeine withdrawal or just food withdrawal? It really sucks.

Had a very bad headache during day 2. Nothing really since then. Currently on day 5 and I think my body and now used to it.

@FL*Girl it is likely both. Your body is used to caffeine and carbs and going through withdrawal.

And yes it sucks and shakes still suck post-op too. But it will be a faded memory at some point. Hang in there.

Surgery date is November 7th. On the second day of liquid diet. If I can live through this, I can live through anything.

Tummy surgery is November 7th. I’m on my 6th day down 13 pounds for a total of 33 pounds. Today I’m freezing and tired.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
