4 years...I’m back because I need help!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys! It’s been a while. I put the app back on my phone. It’s been 4 years since my surgery. I’ve bounced up 25 pounds from my lowest weight. I need to get it off. My old addiction crept back in. I’m grazing. Eating sliders and am a carboholic again! Help and advice appreciated!

Don’t get me wrong. This is the best thing I have ever done. I am stronger than ever. Work out every day. Have tons of energy. I just need to get my head right again!!

Frustrating when you have a gain. I'm 3 years and I'm also here getting back on track. Not saying do as I do..This is what I've had to do to get the scale to move in my favor....

I had to detox off carbs..Once I have them I crave them. I cleared out the house. Told my husband he needs to hid his own goodies. If I find them they go in the trash. (harsh but,I too tempted right now...)

I trying to be more mindful of my choices : I'm recognizing head hunger, stress/ emotional eating, boredom eating and satisfying cravings.

Grazing . I bought a vegetable tray pack. If I feel like grazing I allow myself raw veggies. (when my head say no, I want something else..then I know it's not real hunger)

I started meal prepping on sundays. My meals are ready for the week.

I broke down and bought a food scale for more accuracy with my food app log. ( I still use myfittnesspal)

Working out is my therapy. I'm good in that area for now.

You have lost weight before you can do this again. You still have your surgery as a tool.

Great idea! That should make a huge difference. With me, carbs make me hungry & crave more carbs. First week or so may be tough as your body detoxes, but you got this!!

Another thing that helps me is fat. I was doing low carb, low fat, high Protein. Maintenance was a very thin tightrope, until I began to allow some fats in my diet. I stay full & satisfied longer which in turn makes me eat less in the long run and have fewer to no cravings.

It's all about finding your perfect balance for you.

Thank you. I agree. I’m going with 40/40/20 macros. The fat keeps you satiated. Now the detox. Day 1 done and tracked!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
