i wondering if this only works for the first month then...it's just counting calories

Well, thanks again and good luck to the person who just underwent the surgery. Recovery is always a little painful. Personally i had anesthia only once but it stayed in me clearly for over a week. I spoke slow and had a crushing pain in my head for a week. It was scary.

U know, have decided to spend this week meeting as many doctors from different hospitals as i can. Then decide who will be my final choice. I even looked into going to Thailand. Boy, they charge more than because the British go to those hospitals and compared to the UK, Thailand is cheaper. Thailand charges more than the US to give u an idea.

Anyhow.....also what is odd is the number of nay=sayers..people who say i shouldnt do this. funny how they dont understand...i need professional help to get healthy and this is the closest i can get.

But with this board and my own physical research i am feeling stronger about my decision.

Thats it will try to check in to give you some feed back on what different doctors in Dubai are doing.

Why the band vs. no band?

Well, for one thing it's not the 'easier' way. But with that being said, it is doing for me what I could never do for myself. I actually feel full now whereas before I was never full until I couldn't breathe from eatting too much and had to sleep sitting up so I wouldn't smother. When I say full, it's like 1/2 chicken finger and I'm done. That in itself is a miracle. I KNOW that I will never be a size 22 again. When I try to push on the band, the band pushes back. Like some bread just won't go down. I refuse to 'diet' again although my dr. wants me to count carbs. I just avoid all carbs like rice, Pasta and bread. And truthfully by the time I eat my Protein there's really no room for much else. Now if I go out to eat and want 'the works' I'll do 3 bites of salad, Protein, a few bites of veggies and a few crackers & butter if I want. Yes, I can graze and eat chocolate and ice cream and I've been doing that alot lately, but I haven't gained any weight, just a plateau. I guess I'm not eatting enough of it to do any real damage. Overall, I love my band. It has given me a new life.

:whoo:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
