  1. I'm in Florida.. Any recommendations of a better creditor to inquire with? I have a credit score of like 570 because of a loan a family member has out on my name.
  2. Thanks everyone for your suggestions... I haven't given up yet- I'm still going to try and find out about financing options.
  3. Hey Kat, I'm pretty young so I don't own a house or have a 401k.... I don't think I'd get approved for a 15k credit card loan... I'm trying to think this is happening for a reason and maybe the surgery wasn't a good idea.
  4. Hey everyone- I'll try to make this as short as possible. I was supposed to be banded next week... How this whole surgery option came up was my family DR (who is also a family friend) said he got me private funding to pay for the surgery ..some wealthy friends of his owed him a favor and he knew I needed this surgery so wanted to pay for it. So we went and made all the arrangements. Now, I find out yesterday, that he can't get the money and so now I can't pay for the surgery...I'm devastated. I'm now looking into different options for financing and wanted to get opinions on what the best self-pay financing options are? Thanks!
  5. I'd love to hear from you, if you did..............
  6. UNBELIEVABLE WEIGHT LOSS!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats
  7. The passed 3 days on my pre-op diet have been very hard for me but considering I think I did really well....if I went of my Optifast I mostly stuck to vegetables (soups or salad) ..... If the goal is to lose weight, I'm accomplishing that...so fine.
  8. I'm supposed to be banded on the 27th and this threat kinda is discouraging me.. If you're all dealing with the same struggles now as before, why go through the 15k spent on the band and a surgery?? I keep going back and forth on whether or not this will work for me........:phanvan
  9. Thanks sunshiny... WASaBubbleButt- I went to the nutritionist today and the post-op diet is easier than ONLY drinking Optifast shakes ...the post-op allows for a variety of liquids which I could survive on...it's more difficult to do strictly one type of drink for 2 weeks.
  10. Hey everyone- thanks for the responses..I just wanted to clarify that this is NOT 1 day of optifast...it's 17 days of pure Optifast shakes 5 times a day.. But today I went to the nutritionist for pre-op appt. and she told me she doesn't see a problem with me having vegies cuz the whole goal is to just lose weight b4 the shrink the liver...so I've had vegie Soup tonight but I'll call tomorrow to confirm all this with the DR. I could feel on my body I've lost a couple lb's already ( have not weighed myself, but I feel the loss) ...so I guess I'm accomplishing the goal, right??
  11. I'm supposed to be on Optifast... 5 drink boxes (each 8 oz) per day... I think post-op...most people feel nauseous and unable to get down solids so it will be more "doable" ...and also I would feel full from the liquids because of my smaller stomach..now I'm just STARVING. Is this head hunger?
  12. Hey...sorry you had to go through all that...good luck!
  13. Hey everyone... today was my first day on the liquid diet and by the time the day was coming to an end, I felt dizzy and starving!! I ended up having 2 bowls of chicken Soup and maybe 3 oz. of chicken... I think I'm going to call the DR tomorrow to see if we can incorporate some solids (even vegies) into this... Did anyone else have such a hard time??
  14. Hey everyone! So I'm supposed to start my pre-op diet tomorrow.. 5 of the 8 oz. Optifast drinx... I tasted one today and they're super sweet..I can't imagine myself on them for 2 weeks straight!! Have any of you been on strict shakes for 2 weeks before the surgery? And the DR told me 2 week pre-op diet but technically it's 17 days..any of you did that much time on the pre-op diet? Thanks for the responses!!
