Hello. I had surgery 10/9/17. I'm 4 days out today. Everyday my pain is getting less and less. But I don't find myself being hungry. I sip my Water all day and almost got in my 60 oz today. I'm working on getting in my two Protein Shakes a day too. So far it's been about1 1/2. How has everyone else been doing in their first week after being sleeved? I think I will try a cream Soup tonight for dinner. Fingers crossed it stays down. So far I haven't had gas pain or nausea. I've also been getting up to walk as much as possible. I do find myself getting tired faster tho

I also had my sleeve surgery on the 9th. Since the start of my WL plan including the pre op diet I lost 36 lbs so far. I started at 320 and down to 284. I have a ton of gas every sip I take and it hurts like my chest is about to pop. The more I move and the more Water I drink the more the gas escapes. I’m hoping in a few days that goes away. I tried the fat free cream Soup tonight and oh boy is that not something to be excited about. Fortunately I’ve had no pain other than the initial gas bubble from surgery. I have been walking as much as I can and the hardest part is not picking up my daughter for a few days. I have zero desire to eat but realize it’s a must so force down what I’m supposed to, ie Protein Shakes and water and Jello. Not to emphasize but sugar free foods just taste so different that eating isn’t enjoyable yet. I’m excited for transitioning to the purée stage in another 10 days. I will say being a chef is a blessing and a curse. I have lots of ideas for what to eat when I’m back on food but it also reminds me of all the things I did to get to this point. The phycological affects are harder to deal with than the physical. Getting off of five blood pressure pills and not needing cortisone injections every few months to stop the knee and back pain is def exciting. I already feel so much better than I did before the surgery. Well that’s my scoop so far. It’s been a journey that won’t stop anytime soon. Good luck to everyone

I'm 15 days post-op and found that making a thicker Protein Shake worked a lot better than trying to get so much liquid volume. I did that for the first week probably and then added some Soup for variety as I was tired of sweet.

Thank you for your stories. I wish you guys luck. The first 5 days after I took my first sip of Water for the day I would have to burp. But now being exactly a week..I don't get that. I'm excited for the future and getting off most of my meds, especially my insulin. My surgeon changed me from 84 units to 25 units and hopefully when I see him next week he stops the insulin altogether. Good luck to u guys.

I was sleeved on 10/9 too! Is it getting easier for you to get your liquids in? I’m also not loosing weight like crazy like most everyone on here, which is really discouraging but my doctor said I’m doing great. Good luck to you!

It is easier now to get my liquid in now. I was just thinking that I'm not losing weight like crazy either. I am having a problem getting in all my Protein tho. I will be seeing my surgeon next Tuesday so hopefully he tells me I am OK too. What sucks is that every scale I go to is different!! Good luck

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
