Fills and how much you pay

Recommended Posts

My insurance is paying $560 PER FILL! I am required to pay a $40 copay. It just seems like the insurance is getting really ripped off considering their cash price is only $150.

It really irritates me!

Wowser.

All medical things charge insane amounts if it goes through insurance, and it's a lot cheaper if it's self-pay. That goes for everything in that world.

I'm self-pay and if I get a fill, it's suppose to be $50. If it's under fluero, it's $150 (100 for the hospital).

But I got 6 free fills with my surgery.. 4 were wasted, and then I had to have revision port surgery (out of pocket). Doc didn't charge me a fee from him to revise it, but had to pay the hospital $2,000.

So.. for right now I get free fills indefinitely till I make up the $2,000 I had to fork out.

at the University of Illinois at Chicago, they bill my insurance $1000 for a fill. and you can't get in for a fill for months.

Wow its been awhile since I had a fill but it didn't take me months to get in there. At first I was paying 250 bucks at the 900 office..then finally figured out that I could get insurance to cover it if i went to UIC. Of course they didn't tell me this at first I had to do my research. 1,000!! wow they are screwing the insurance companies big time. But we can't say anything for fear of them not filling us..geezee

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
