@BabyFat23 I am on soft food now I think its too early but my nurse called and said to start @LylaLovesCoffee had her surgery on the 8th and she is still on clear

@TINK09 I'm on full liquids. I can have the Protein Drinks and yogurt and anything from the clears, which I really enjoy. And I also can have coffee... but only 12 oz a day.

TINK09I am still on full liquids. For me full liquids seems much easier because you really just sip and go. Moving to the other stages I have to plan meals and I don’t want to think about that.

You said you had Your surgery on the 7th right

Thanks everyone so helpful? I also want to ask a question about the foods that you guys have eaten after your surgery. I had my surgery Nov6 so my nurse stated I can eat soft foods what do you guys suggest?

I was sleeved 11/8 and I am on only full liquids until 11/29. I cannot wait to get on puree foods. Other than broths, teas, waters, Protein Shakes, Vitamin Water, Jello, popsicles, about the only thing I can have right now with any substance is yogurt and I take full advantage of that. I'm not sure if they took enough of the grehlin part of my stomache out. Cuz I get mighty hungry and it's not head hunger (have that alot too) but true my gut flipping around hunger. So I will take a scoop of Protein mix and swirl it into 1/4 cup of yogurt with some water to thin and eat that to feel like I'm eating something! My next step is puree foods then soft foods. Soft foods are scrambled eggs n cheese, soft fishes, tender chicken, yogurt, cottage cheese, RICOTTA BAKE I can't wait to eat that! LOL! good luck

You know Tink, you can try the soft foods. I would start with something you like that you have had before and just a tiny bit of it and chew chew chew chew before you swallow. Just eat a bit and see how things go. If you have nausea or cramping or anything, got back to Clear Liquids for the next meal or two and try again. Just because they say you can doesn't mean you HAVE to or that you're new belly will get on with it.. Eventually we all want to get to the point where we are "normal". Very small portions but pretty much normal. It's not a race for sure. Even on just full liquids, sometimes the Protein Shakes get to me and I do simple clears for a meal to settle myself. I was already lactose intolerant and I fear I've become MORESO. My nurse told me the other that it's extremely possible. So baby steps. You know your body better than anyone else. Just start small especially if you are fighting nausea still. good luck and keep us posted!! it's a journey we are all on!

6 days post op. Things are going well. I'm keeping my fluids and Protein down. Whenever I get a craving for "food" I either get a Popsicle or some Jello and "fake it". A couple of good things have come out of this.

1) I can now drink coffee black. I've been trying for several years to kick the Creamer habit, and it finally happened.

2) I don't know if any of you ladies have this issue, but I've always had a weak bladder. Since this surgery I don't have to "rush" anymore. I'm loving it.

I've lost all my surgery swelling/water weight and a couple of pounds more. but I'm not really paying much attention because I have plenty of time right now, and my recovery must come first. Also I had my first BM this morning. Everything went fine and I had no problems. I know it sounds like I'm having a easy breezy time of this, but I assure you my incision is still hurting and I walk around like a 90 yr old woman. I've been icing my side and that helps some.

How is everyone else doing?

It's so funny you say that about your bladder. I have always drank alot of Water (and funny that my new tummy hates plain water STILL). Always peeing. But not volumes of pee, just pee and yes rushing to go. Now....I go alot but NOT AS MUCH. Don't have to rush and MORE comes out in a good stream. I was thinking to myself....I should have been catheratized a long time ago if this is the outcome! It's good news. WHO KNEW???? LOL As far as coffee black...ick. I just put in a bit of Fairlife 2% milk. It's lactose free. And the 2% is as creamy as creamer. you only need a bit.

On a side note....we can have SF popsicles. Can we also have SF fudgicles? I think yes.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
