When did you get rid of clothes?

Recommended Posts

It is a big cleaning day at my house today. I am considering getting rid of some of my summer clothes that should not fit next year.

So those of you have been doing this longer than I have, is this premature?

Right now things are loose but serviceable.

I am planning on keeping enough to make it through, what I hope will be, a long warmish fall.

Every single time i dropped a size. So I was donating clothes weekly or every 2 weeks for months.

I do not keep clothes that are too large. It is just subconsciously giving yourself permission to regain.

I am constantly cleaning out my closet. I have a bag always in the closet to put stuff in for goodwill. In the past 4 months I bet I’ve given away 10-12 bags of clothes!

I just cleaned out my closet again. I have 6 storage boxes of clothes ready to be gotten rid of, but unlike those of you in the US and other western countries, my options for getting rid of the clothes here are pretty limited. When I have some time, I'll photograph most of them and put them up online to see if there are any larger women living in this area will want them.

I am 2 months out and have already bagged 3 bags of clothes and taken to Goodwill. It is fun to see how many clothes don't fit. I've lost 53 lbs so far and 25 inches overall. I'm in xl now and have some larges waiting in the wings.

I get rid of clothing as soon as I can't wear it anymore. I have no plans to go back up in sizes so I can't waste space in my closet saving clothing I will never wear again.

As soon as I went down in size I gave my friends and family my bigger sized clothing.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
