First Fill : Does not hurt a bit!

Recommended Posts

I just came back from my first fill. I am such a baby. I am really scared of neddles. ( Like I pass out) I took a xanax before I went just to calm down. He numb it first with lancane and then shot the saline in. He did 3ccs. It was over in like 2 seconds. The only thing that surprised me was that I had to do a leg lift. I am exercised challenged. I guess it makes it easier to find the port. I am on soft foods if I can tolertant them. If not then liquids. He said some people have to do liquids for a couple of days. It depends on your body....

I didn't gain either. I had been eating alot more. I had birthday cake yesterday. Of course, he asked me what I had been eating. I told him the truth. He said No Exceptions until you lose weight....... My birthday is tomorrow but the family came over yesterday. Cake has been thrown out... Can have it in the house.

I HAVE BEEN FILLED!!!!

I get my first fill on Friday. I'm nervous and excited. I just want it to be an aggressive fill so I won't be hnugry anymore! I don't want to be one of those people that have to keep going back. Thanks for sharing and good luck!

Hi everyone! Just joined the forum and this is my first message!

I hate to be the downer here, but my first fill was really painful. Once the needle was in, my Doc had to really dig to get to the port. I didn't think I would ever want to go back. He only used 1cc, and it made absolutely no difference, so i had to go back.

The second time was much better. I tightened my stomach this time and within a couple of seconds I was done. I also used a numbing cream the second time.

I'm finding that this one (2cc) is providing more restriction. Still not sure if it's enough. This process has been much slower than I thought it would be. Surgery was July 23 and I'm down 16 pounds. I thought it would be more than that by now.

Good luck with your first fill. My doctor was actually surprised that it was painful, so I may be an oddball.

I get my first fill November 3rd. My surgery was 3 weeks ago and I wasn't hungry at first, but now it's hard to not want to eat like before. I'll be glad to get at least one fill so maybe I can control hunger more. :hungry: <---me....still :rolleyes

I'm kind of *there,* too. Except that I cannot eat cold meat or Pasta. In fact, even hot Pasta doesn't go down. I have a 14cc band, and kind of believe I already have some restriction. I can tell!

My first fill is today.

i had my surgery on 10/5 and was really sore and uncomfortable the first week but now my appetite is pretty normal. I cant eat as much as I used to - but Im not doing liquids anymore because the plain broth makes me kinda nauseated. im just having small bits of grilled chicken or hotdogs with no buns... a lot of Water and my Protein Shakes. A few intermittent sugar free popsicles.

Just trying to keep it low carb till I get a fill.

First check up tomorrow.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
