Appreciation for the little things

Recommended Posts

I'm grateful to be home, with my unfiltered internet access, lots to read, the fact that the binder my surgeon's office gave me doesn't say that I must wait to start the puréed stage of the diet (though I will call their office tomorrow to confirm).

And the fact that since Sunday, I lost 3,8 kg (or 8,3 lbs)!

I started pureed foods mid week two. I had my follow up 8 days after and I told my surgeon that I was literally waking up with horrible hunger pangs. I would drink some Water to see if it would go away and it did for a moment and then came back with a vengeance. He told me to go ahead and do puree to soft foods and that I would know right away whether or not it agreed with me. He just told me to go slow. And so far, so good.

I know every programme has different requirements and that's what makes giving advice difficult. I've already put in the call to my surgeon's office and a nurse should be getting back to me later today.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
