I can only eat about 2 oz for most things besides dense/dry food which is more like 1 oz. I actually don't really like food anymore and primarily consume Protein Shakes. My nutritionist doesn't like how little I am able to eat and she actually encourages me to eat more which I find shocking. I am just happy to not be able to eat nearly the amount I was able to eat before.

I understand her concern, its not ideal to just be on shakes forever lol, how many are you having a day? how far out are you? are you going days without food?

I am 3 and a half months out. I usually have 3 Premier Protein shakes a day and I will go a few days without eating solid foods. I will have a slice or two of deli meat every once in a while or some fish.

I am six months out and I think I am eating right. Just getting a little harder. I hope I did'nt stretch my sleeve . I basically used the portion plate for dinner. I have been having some bread which is probably a no no. I have one Protein pre made shake a day or Protein Bar. I also started snacking at night on popcorn. Trying but have weight stall the last three weeks. So far I have lost 66 pounds from 251 to 185.9. I have ten more pounds to reach goal at 175 I am six foot one

I'm newly post op and I must say, there is a curve to acclimate my eating habits. For example, I'm looking at a bowl of cream of chicken Soup that I will, in all likelihood, have to dump out tonight because I made too much. I could probably work on this for the next day or two.

My surgery was 7/31, so I am almost 5 weeks post-op. I am at the soft food stage. Some things, like Greek yogurt, I can eat almost 4 oz. meats, "real food" I can eat a few bites, up to 2 oz on lucky days. My NUT wants only 3 meals per day with no snacking, am to fill up with Water or Protein Drinks. I consume maybe 500 cal on good days. Am hoping it gets better.

Good to see this thread. I was sleeved on June 13 th. I am full on one egg and a piece of bacon, 2 oz of any meat. By full I mean I get uncomfortable. Trying to slow down and be mindful. Eating out with friends I've learned is hard, talking and carrying on while eating and not being mindful. Tired of being uncomfortable and it's making me slightly crazy because it's self induced.

Have you ever taken a class in meditation? It could help build that character of mindfulness.

Hum, no I have not, but that makes sense.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
