Hi All,

Heidi again! I'm now 10 days post-op! I'm feeling really good. I have a question for those similar to me or those who are beyond my stage.

My surgeon is pretty aggressive with our timeline for introducing new foods. Week 1 -liquids, week 2- purée and some soft food (i.e. Cottage cheese, loose mashed potatoes, yogurt), week 3 soft food with not liquid during and after meals ( canned tuna, scrambled egg, 1/4 slice of toast)

I haven't really been hungry, per se, but I want to ensure I am on target with my intake of Protein and calories. I'm averaging under 200 calories and I'm trying to walk.

Question: what are others eating at this point? I have had no negative effects to anything I have tried.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Wanting to hear how your experience has been since your surgery? Has it been different from what you expected? Hoping it's going smooth

Hi there, your surgery was 9/21 correct? So was mine, just wondering how you're doing.

Hi, my surgery was on September 18th. I'm doing pretty good. I started at 259, surgery weight was 247, I'm at 185 now. Things are going slower. I was exercising more before the weather changed, so hopefully I will get back into it more soon. I was type 2 diabetic, and they took me off all meds for that. I am so grateful for that more then anything. How are you doing?. My goal is 150-160.

Hi there, I have had a few stalls, but overall happy with my progress. SW 229, CW 190.4, GW 170. I struggle big time with taking my Vitamins and Calcium. Trying to improve on that piece.

Thanks Tatt, my mother died from diabetes, it's really a awful disease. I know she's looking down at me, smiling.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
