August Sleevers-How are you doing??

Recommended Posts

I'm not allowed over 5-10 lbs (depending on who you ask) for 6 weeks. But my princess b***h dog made me lift her the night I got home (25 lbs on her skinny days). I thought about joining LA fitness until I can get back to my HIIT but I'm used to 40lbs+. 5/10 seems so boring [emoji19]

Week 3 post op and I haven't lost anything for 5 days. I'm trying to be positive and logically I know weight loss isn't linear but I want to see these damn scales move!

On the plus side went to the gym for the first time since surgery, just lifted very very light weight (5kg). I thought it couldn't hurt.

I'm exactly the same! Day 21 and no loss for 5 days. It's frustrating, but I know it will start up again.... But the secret fear is there that I'm not going to lose anymore weight... Which is silly I know. 😚

My operation was on 8/21. I had a staple line leak and my BP kept dropping. I had internal bleeding, I was dehydrated and I passed out each time I stood up. It was super scary. The hospital staff was prepping me to go back into the OR when my surgeon decided on a different course of action, which was to stop the anticoagulants and let my body clot naturally and it worked! The whole first day I was in bed unable to move. Since I was unable to move, I had a gas bubble settle in my back under my ribs and the pain was second to child birth. I was given morphine and had a terrible reaction to, so that was a hard pass. I was given a pint of blood to recover what was lost internally. By day 3, I was ready to go home as long as I could tolerate my diet which felt next to impossible! Trying to get down 4oz of Protein Shake was harder than I thought.

Now, I'm back to my FTJ as of last week and I'm down 26lb! I was given the ok to eat Cereal and soft meats yesterday. While this is great, I'm super scared that I'm going to gain weight and not lose anymore. Any suggestions?

You have been to hell and back, but now you have to try and relax and let things take their course - Why would you put weight on? It's not really possible while your hardly eating anything, you might stall but that's your body sorting things out. You will get there. I've had the same feelings as you, but it's slowly working. I've stalled a couple of times and it's made me depressed and panicky, but even when my weights not shifting, inches are! Try to only weigh yourself once a week otherwise the scales will take over your life

my biggest problem is meal times, I struggle to eat more than an ounce at a time, if I do - It gets stuck, I feel sick and get a headache, I know I'm dehydrated, just can get the Protein and fluids in!!! One day at a time,

Between Sunday and Monday, I gained one kilo and between yesterday and today, no change. I don't know if this is a stall I should worry about but I know it's still probably a good idea to keep tracking it.

I refuse to get on the scale until my follow up on October 2nd because I'm afraid of being disappointed if I'm not losing like I want. Hopefully I'll be in for a nice surprise on my appointment.

I get on the scale once a day so I have a graph of my weight in the event something is wrong so I can easily show the the surgeon.

I gained 0.4 kg today. I'm not liking this trend, and if it doesn't break soon, I'm phoning the surgeon's office first thing Monday morning.

My surgery date was 8/30 and I've notice in the past 48 hours how much better and more energetic I feel!!! I am having an issue getting in all of my Protein and water... I am trying tho. I feel like I am in a stall already... Someone told me to do nothing but eggs, shakes, and Water for a whole week and that will give me a boost. I am starting my workout regimen as well now that i am feeling better. I am loving and hating this all at the same time. Discourage and disappointed with my slow loss.

I would add that my surgeon doesn't like eggs in the soft food stage, not sure why.... I'm at a loss :(

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
