Surgery Set for October 17th and Vlogging My Journey on YouTube

Recommended Posts

Hello, everyone. I'm a 38 male from Michigan who started my program back in March. In January I was 581lbs, Today I'm 503lbs and my goal is to have lost 100lbs when I go in for surgery on the 17th of October.

with the help of my surgeon, we've both decided that Gastric Bypass would be my best option. I've been obese my whole life since the age of 6. It's the one thing I've not been able to beat but I'm sure working on it.

If anyone is interested, I would love the support of subbing to my YouTube Channel. If you sub, please leave a comment on here so that I can personally thank you. I look forward to interacting with you all and wish you all much success in your own journeys.

Subscribed! I'm a YouTube junkie (Game Grumps and Markiplier have to be my faves), so I'm always looking to watch and support more channels :) Another guy that I subscribed to awhile ago is ObesetoBeast. I wasn't there for his journey, but he's pretty inspirational and not afraid to tackle stuff like how he deals with his excess skin, etc.

I'll be watching your progress and rooting you on!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
